Article source: joel jospe architects High up on a street corner stands a residential property overlooking surrounding rooftops and a captivating view. I chose to place the main entrance to the house on the quieter street side, on the vantage point providing the view, thus also orienting most functional areas to that direction.  Image Courtesy © joel jospe architects This unusual design approach produces a clear line beginning at the gate and leading all the way to the entrance, a long walkway that shows the garden to the right, the swimming pool and several outdoor seating areas. The exterior has been classically and traditionally designed, reminiscent of detached houses around the globe, but the interior is completely modern. The floors are laid with huge 1/3-meter concrete tiles, and kitchen and furnishing are contemporary, highlighted with bold lighting fixtures.  Image Courtesy © joel jospe architects  Image Courtesy © joel jospe architects The basement floor is divided into a guest area (bedrooms and bathrooms), with a large additional play area and home cinema. The floor also provides a state-of-the-art kitchenette, bar and serving area, and a fascinating wine cellar with glass-paned cabinets for viewing. The entrance is planned with a double-height ceiling with a modern chandelier hanging at its center, and a guest bathroom and cloakroom. One broad wall is completely covered in darkly tinted glass, containing a large cupboard and a concealed 60-inch flat screen TV. To the left there is a family room and large modern kitchen, with a central island and dining table for daily use. The family room, with another TV, leads out to its own yard. There is a second exit leading to a bedroom with its own bathroom and closet for close relatives when they visit. Turning left from the staircase, you find the master suite, and to the right are four children’s bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms.
