Article source: Officina82 For the third time in the history of the competition in 2016, from June 10th to the 10th of July, France hosted the 15th edition of the European Football Championship. Nice (Southern France) partecipated in sporting events also with a temporary exhibition Gooal! Rendez-vous Européen, organized by the National Sport Museum with a design and set up project by the Italian-based architects of Officina82 in collaboration with the graphic designer Elio di Raimondo.  Image Courtesy © Officina82 Covering a surface of more than 800 square metres, the exhibition runs through the history of the competition, bringing together stories and items borrowed from the UEFA and private collections, with pieces of work inspired by the football world such as “Lesfootballeurs” by Niki de Saint-Phalle, Nicolas de Staël and Pablo Picasso. The main room of the exhibition is intentionally an open space divided up into three sections walking through the world and history of European football. The visitor is at the center of the scene and a video installation reproduces an Ola on the surrounding walls . The supporters from all nations celebrate a great party together, transcending boundaries, winners and loosers. There are the goal net, the grass of the football field, the graphic designs about football imaginations: the net tells the story of the origins of the competition, the grass is for the football field, the center of attention, the action and the ritual stage.
