A collaboration with a newly married couple for this project that started with a discussion, How to make your husband feel happy?

Definitely DESSERT!

No matter how much he can eat,

There is always room for DESSERT!

DESSERT doesn’t go to his stomach,

DESSERT goes to his heart.

Let’s make dessert together!

We experienced the baking process with owner.

As we studied around with the macaron, pound cake and canele, the look all of them became admirable, and we found out the design process is just like the baking process with recipe.

We started from pureness, elegance and simplicity of its desserts, we wanted the space also reflect these sort of qualities, arousing the sensual and visual pleasures for the sweetness of the desserts.

We thought what if it’s possible to turn this idea into a space, so that everything is separate or out to create a spatial program that not only allow the owners to visualize but also to experience.

With a design concept which inspired by the “spiritual of desserts”, the one which can transform the inside and exterior of desserts to the space of design.

So for the challenge of the space, our idea is pushing the concept into the space, into a “deconstruction” spatial experience from dessert and define the materials and objects so that can exert its function independently.

We create the field spirit. With the technique of deconstruction, the wooden handles are inspired by cut bright macaron. The contrasting hard and soft colors and design details reflect the personalities of a young married owner’s new roles in their new life. Enhanced by macaron integrated into the space through color, shape and meaning.

And we installed the panel on the shelf inspired by the good sense of rhythm of canele which allows itself to be seen without screaming out for too much attention or shrinking into the background.

A pink seat cushion, grey drawer surprise with speckled pink cast stone inspire playfulness, and the faded denim blue counter surprise with the white marble top and gold metal to complement and contrast with the smoke grey of the object.

These shape of objects all inspired by shape of cut pound cake.

We look forward to creating imaginative and evocative spaces which just like dessert.

This project is designed to feel feminine, light and fun, despite the space is not too big, but also probably a phenomenon that started from the trend of “Live in sweetness” lifestyle.
