On November 1, 2018, after two years of renovations, new elements and functions were placed in the interior space, and Mitsui Warehouse was transformed into a “memory warehouse”, which was officially opened to the public. Space description In the center of the first floor, we set a “memory book store” as the most important space in the memory warehouse, where people can get the historical memory of the development around the Beimen, Mitsui Warehouse and even Taipei. You can also use the VR to receive the stories of Mitsui Warehouse , Beimen and the historical memory of Taipei. Memory Book Store Memory Book Store is a wall space of 7mx4m. The wall material is glass brick with brick and a metal shelf surrounded by walls. The stacking of block corresponds to this brick-built historical building, creating an interesting dialogue between “new” and “old”. Memory Wall – Travel through time We set the old steel column on the ground as a historical display, and used a wire mesh to make a frame with red bricks hanging above. The shape of the arched hole is made of iron plate, and the art of the installation is used to let the visitors see the window through the hole, and they will see an image about the relationship between local and the Mitsui warehouse. Dining area and Bar We set up a bar and dining area to diversify the subsequent operations and attract more people to visit. You can come here for coffee, reading, listening to lectures and participating in the show. 2nd floor lecture hall and exhibition hall A lecture hall has been set up on the 2nd floor, so that many art events, performances and cultural lecture halls can be held here.
