Redesign of the staff cafeteria of the KfW Development Bank in Berlin, Germany by Rüthnick ArchitektenFebruary 15th, 2019 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: Rüthnick Architekten More attractive for the staff was the goal of the project. The atmosphere of the former company cafeteria of the 1990s was anonymous and had a cool effect. The new color concept in black and white, with color accents in different shades of green, provides a fresh and regenerating effect. An improved lighting and acoustic concept create a warm and pleasant indoor climate. The wood-clad gallery and staircase refer to the existing wooden doors and windows.
To improve functionality, the staircase has been moved. This makes the division of the room and the way to the upper dining areas much clearer. The new furniture is made of white Corian® and ensures a communicative and friendly cafeteria atmosphere. A newly created glazed view into the vestibule and the courtyard brings even more daylight into the canteen. The new design of the previously unused courtyard invites you through a new staircase for lunch in the sunshine. Contact Rüthnick Architekten
