The project involves the renovation of a residential building from the 1970s; it aims to adapt the existing spaces to the new contemporary living needs, redefining the main environments and seeking a new relationship with the context.

On a functional level the spaces have been completely reorganized, maintaining the existing structure.

From the main entrance, located along the east side, you enter the main room of the house, where a wall made of natural wood defines and organizes the division of spaces, masking different service elements inside. The smooth concrete floor of the ground floor favors a continuity approach between inside and outside; the same material was used to create the new static consolidation pillars, kept “in sight” in order to declare its structural nature.

In the northern part of the ground floor the service spaces and the study have been placed, providing for a secondary access at the parking space, protected by a concrete portico.

The new wide openings frame the surrounding hilly landscape, favoring the natural lighting of the rooms during the day. A second exposed concrete portico identifies and protects the entrance.

The building volume is regularized, redefining the elevations by creating new openings and a new flat roof. On the first floor, the sleeping area consists of a large double bedroom with bathroom, two smaller bedrooms and an independent bathroom, characterized by the use of wood for floors, fixtures and furniture, creating a more intimate and private domestic space.
