The main guideline of this expansion was the idea of differentiating itself from the other neighboring houses. With the purchase of the adjacent lot, the clients were able to gain the necessary area so that the architects could develop the new program of the house.
Located on the Baleia Beach in São Sebastião, the house has eight suites, four of them facing the sea, all on the upper floor. The ground floor is elevated 2.5m from the street and gives privacy to the pool areas, deck, garden and balconies. These spaces, in turn, gain visual of the horizon. On the same floor are organized the living room, dining room, kitchen, office and TV room. The new proposal also includes a basement with garage for eight cars, service area and employee area.
An interesting fact is that the social access of the house through the garage shares a sauna and dressing room, which connect with a garden through which the stairs lead to the gourmet kitchen, on the ground floor. All these spaces are large, well ventilated and illuminated.
The house also has an oceanfront gym on the same floor of the rooms.
In addition to the challenge of organizing all the program desired by the customers, the new structure of the house was given special attention, since visual perception does not show an enlargement, but a new proposal, leaving no trace of the previous one. The ventilated facade in ACM brings unity to all the upper floor, distinguishing itself, therefore, from the neighboring houses.
