Article source: MODO Architettura + Design We are in the heart of Livorno, in an incredibly seductive neighborhood: the Venezia district, with its canals that recall the unique Italian city of Venezia, the nightlife and the charm of a timeless neighborhood. In this corner of the city there is one of the latest projects by MODO architettura + design studio: an apartment located on the top floor of a historic building that comes to life through bold choices that reflect the personality of those who live there. Entering in the apartment, the protagonist is a long corridor on whose left side all the rooms develop framed by wide arched openings.
The predominant color here is a soft powder pink, that becomes more strong in a “barolo” tone in the inner part of the arches to enhance its movement. The glow that runs through the arches and the reflection of the spotlights' lighting create elegant shadows, lightening the blind wall of the corridor. In the whole apartment has been maintained the existing wooden flooring, repainted with the original color, but without eliminating the taste of the time which we can see in its elegant imperfections. The first room accessibile from the long corridor is the kitchen with a dining table. Here the shades of gray on the walls highlight the kitchen details with carrara marble, petrol textiles and gold pendant lamps on the island. On the opposite side of the windows a large antique mirror expands the space and reflects the light, making the whole space bright and comfortable. The dining area is characterized by a modern table with a circular shape supported by a single central copper-colored paw, surrounded by gray and petrol velvet chairs. The guest bathroom, in dark gray resin, recalls the original taste of this apartment. The vintage tiles on the floor and the wooden sink top warms up the room with a vintage touch. Next is the living room: a surreal space with extravagant colors and glamorous finishes: strong green, pastel pink and light gray define a suggestive scenario, where the large bookcase, with arched compartments that recall the architecture of the house, triumphs by imposing itself on a sort of podium covered in ceramic with an optical effect. The master bedroom is characterized by three protagonists: the suspended bed with headboard covered in a fanciful colored wallpaper, the walk-in closet on the mezzanine, and the bathroom hidden behind the filter created by the headboard of the bed. This bathroom is also in dark gray resin, with a large shower in the background. The path ends with the guest room, with bold and contrasting tones, elegant and full of style in its own simplicity. The Glam Apartment is certainly a stylish and audacious apartment, like its owner. Contact MODO Architettura + Design
