In commemoration of these humble beginnings, the now globally-recognized brand went back to the source to debut its new Outdoor Collection with a zero-waste sustainable Mountain Hut.  Image Courtesy © On Inc. On’s Co-Founders, Olivier Bernhard, Caspar Coppetti and David Allemann, still find the Alps their biggest source of inspiration and ideas. Growing up in the Swiss Alps, the mountains served as a training ground, first ski slope and more for the team. The first ever On business plan was put together by the three co-founders while hiking in the Engadin valley, and the environment still serves as a testing hub for the brand’s full product assortment.  Image Courtesy © On Inc.  Image Courtesy © On Inc. Situated in the Piz Lunghin, also known as “The Roof of Europe”, the On Mountain Hut sits in an idyllically remote location beside an alpine lake. The site is only reachable on foot, hovering at nearly 8,200 feet of elevation. The nights are illuminated solely by the stars above, and the summit seems almost an arm’s length away in the morning light. During the day, the hut is powered by solar panels and filtered rainwater and offers panoramic views of the Engadin valley. As part of the new outdoor collection, On releases its first hiking shoe, the Cloudrock Waterproof. The shoe is complete with a patented Mission Grip sole, and offers full protection and cushioning while staying 35% lighter than comparable hiking footwear. For those who would rather run up the mountain, On offers the Cloudventure Peak, a shoe whose every detail is made for speed. The new outdoor line is rounded off with the Waterproof Anorak, a fashionable all-weather jacket with triple skin and smart ventilation slits made of eco-friendly PTFE-free materials.
