Article source: OOOOX s.r.o. Family house reconstruction Layout – It is a reconstruction of a two-storey family house of 400 square metres. The ground floor offers a very generous entrance hall from which you enter a spacious living room, a kitchen and a dining room. The kitchen can also be entered from the garage, through the pantry, thanks to which you can store your shopping nicely already on the way. This floor also includes two study rooms for owners of the house and a guest room. The second floor includes a private zone consisting of three studios. The main bedroom with access to the terrace has an adjacent bathroom available, a separate toilet and a spacious walk-in wardrobe. Every child has their own studio, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom and a toilet.
Concept / Colours / Materials – As the house owner is an art collector, owning a gallery, art is undoubtedly an integral part of the whole house. It literally becomes the dominating feature. Our concept was clear. To make a neutral background against which what is required to stand out will shine. Therefore, we have used grey concrete skim coating both on the floor and walls. A more striking skim coat is in the kitchen and is, moreover, printed with a pattern. We supplemented this grey and white basis with natural, gang-sawn timber with oak veneer. Most of the built-in furniture is made of varnished medium-density fibreboard (MDF). We repeat the principle in bathrooms, working with a grey skim coat in combination with patterned grey tiles. On the first floor we have, for change, selected a light, three-layer oak floor to ensure a comfortable feeling of greater warmth for the owners. Handles, handrails, fittings, pelmets, lamps, legs, window frames, etc. are, as usual in our designs, made of black steel. Kitchen – A high set of kitchen cabinets is decorated with a grey concrete skim coat. It contains built-in appliances and a vinotheque. The adjacent wall hides a door by Dorsis with a hidden doorframe. It leads to the pantry and becomes almost invisible thanks to the patterned skim coat. The cooking island is designed in a natural veneer of gang-sawn oak. The worktop is untraditionally made of a thin, matted metal which has highly protective characteristics. The island has an integrated cooker extractor hood and the control panel is located in the front part of the island. This detail is distinguished thanks to its handle-free system. Bevelled edges of the front create an illusion of a delicate, thin material and makes the entire mass of the kitchen as light as possible. Dining room –The heart of the dining room is undoubtedly a massive table Cattelan Scorpio the geometric leg of which stands out on an original Persian carpet. The dining table can seat eight to ten people. They can enjoy comfort of Carl Hansen’s “Wishbone” chairs. The remarkable lights are supplied by Zeitraum NOON 7. A varnished bookcase is situated along the wall, with an asymmetric division to provide room for other works of art personal to the house owner. Living room – The wall unit continues from the dining room around the corner by low cabinets under the wall-hung TV set. The dark furniture is in contrast to the panelling of floor lamellas with a natural oak veneer. The extraordinary element here is a sliding door, made to measure in the “barns” style. A large sofa offers seating space for the whole family. Large windows are decorated with linen curtains of a gradual colour gradient. The atmosphere warming lighting was provided by Brokis, technical lights by Delta Light. The wing chair and the footstool are made by Tonet. Study room – A grey wall unit in the man’s study room is made of varnished and has been combined with oak veneer. The desk is made in harmony with the bookcase design. What must be present in the study room is a couch, an overhead projector with a projection screen and sound system, tailor-made. Main bedroom & walk-in wardrobe – Residential rooms in the private zone of the house have wooden floors of three bonded layers with an oak veneer. The bedroom includes built-in wardrobes made of varnished MDF, in a light grey colour, supplemented with leather handles. The wall is decorated with wallpaper with a Wall and Deco pattern against which an anthracitic black, upholstered continental bed stands out. Simple Italian golden tables with bird legs by Cassino serve as bedside tables. In walk-in wardrobes one can see furniture made of laminated veneer which is stained in grey. This method is ranked among extraordinary techniques thanks to which the structure which is unparalleled becomes apparent. Again, leather handles are used on the doors. There is an illuminated island situated in the middle of the walk-in wardrobe, containing storage space and also serving as a bench. Bathroom next to the main bedroom – The bathroom is dominated by a grey concrete skim coat and patterned ceramic tiles. The unusual shape of the bathtub located under the skylights offers a view of the sky. The built-in bathtub is encased in veneer panelling. We have used the illumination effect here again which creates a relaxing, pleasant atmosphere after the main lights are switched off. Next to a spacious shower cubicle we see a steel structure holding a big stone washbasin and a black tap. Storage space built in the wall can be noticed only thanks to unusual handles. An electric, integrated bidet shower has been designed for the toilet. Hall & staircase – A spacious white hall highlights large works of art, such as large-format paintings, a sculpture under the stairs or an iron statue of a horse. Black steel handrail ensures a safe walk on the stairs, thanks to the mesh of leather ropes. An added value is the illuminated staircase, with a natural oak panelling. A large, pivot door as high as the room dominate the entrance and frame the whole room (like a picture). Accessories – The interior accessories used within this interior are from the assortment of our showroom LOOOOX. Contact OOOOX s.r.o.
