Noa Noa Club in Santiago, Chile by BRAVO OFFICE

Oficina Bravo and Design Systems International collaborated to bring new life to a venue that had historically been home to several clubs already. The ambition was to create a both sophisticated and low-tech aesthetic that, while maximizing the use of the space, was able to project a recognizable identity and attract the public nightly from Wednesday through Saturday.

The project utilized principles that were applied consistently throughout the space to give it a unique and recognizable character: using exclusively amber color for lighting, a custom low-resolution LED screen system with a custom variable width typeface setup, and the uniform floor-to-ceiling application of color.

On the facade there are two amber color LED screens that attract passerby’s attention: one, 8 meter long marquee displaying tonight’s lineup, and a smaller, rectangular screen with the weekly programming.

The first floor, featuring a specialty cocktail bar, is painted floor to ceiling in pale pink and illuminated by an amber LED menu and soft –also amber– strip lights.

The stairs take visitors downstairs to find the dancefloor, painted in black and only illuminated with faint amber light and a large wall-to-wall low resolution amber LED screen behind the DJ booth, playing curated visuals to accompany the music and set the right mood for dancing.

Both the DJ booth, the bars, and the host’s plinth are opaque volumes finished with a faux polished black marble product. The reflection of the amber light upon them as well the presence of faceted mirrors throughout the space intensify the immersive nature of the space.
