Article source: YUDIN Design studio The first bar of the new Italian restaurant chain ITALIST Family in Kyiv. Twin designers Vladimir and Alexander Yudin were invited to the project as active participants and conceptors. Italist Family is about local culinary traditions and, thanks to its modern minimalist style, represents the typical Italian traveller and expressly hedonist.
ITALIST Prosecco Bar is located in the centre of Kyiv. The mission of this institution is to give positive mood and an atmospheric piece of Italy. Crossing the threshold of the institution, you leave behind you a multimillion-dollar Kyiv, to return for a moment to your best experiences associated with Italy. Since the area of the institution is very small, the founders reasonably decided that it is better to perform a few options, but at the highest levels! The entire interior of ITALIST plays around an open buffet bar, which also easily shows a reference to famous Italian aperitifs and “Bellavita” evening moments. The studio YUDIN Design, as always, personally designed the bar for the restaurant in its own workshop YUDIN Product. In addition to an open and“transparent” structure, the buffet features a dynamic menu line of plates, richly stocked glass holders and vivid colours. Furthermore, the whole institution is decorated with life-affirming phrases in Italian: sogna senza paura (dream fearlessly!), Fatto con amore (made with love), nulla é difficile per chi ama (nothing is difficult for the one who loves), etc. . Stands for devices, menu sections, napkin holders are also indicated by Italian words in the corporate font of ITALIST – another creative development of Alexander and Vladimir Yudin. A lavatory is decorated with a phrase in internationally understandable English: “Save water. Drink prosecco! ” It is interesting that the logo of ITALIST is placed under each phrase since it looks like a painting. Special attention to another branding element created by YUDIN Design: the takeaway food packaging. Performing their simple functions, the Brothers Yudin simultaneously decorated the institution and complemented its character. And how do we know the most temperamental Italians? – of course from the movie! Therefore, the designers, the Brothers Yudin, proposed to install a projector in the restaurant, which showcases stylish Italian cinema masterpieces. To ensure a balance of creativity and functionality, and to cope with the question of the compact area of the institution, the famous Ukrainian designers not only correctly planned the room, using color diffusion, but also designed all the cabinet furniture and sofas. That’s why, in this small episode of Italy in the centre of Kyiv, everything is in its place! Thanks to panoramic windows, the institution is balanced with natural and artificial light. This creates a pleasant lighting that positively affects the mood of guests. A little detail that will be appreciated by the passionate visitors of ITALIST is the flowers chosen by the designers: plants that decorate the colourful landscapes of Italy, whether it is a park or a flowerbed near a restaurant.
