Article source: ARCHITEKTI ŠEBO LICHÝ Čerešne Living is Bratislava´s new city district which will continue developing also in other stages of construction. A unique residential district with the modern-day urban qualities of an advanced, developing European city is appearing in an area which has not been urbanized until now – in Polianky, between Patrónka, Kramáre, Karlova Ves and Dúbravka, in a forgotten territory of inaccessible gardens and industrial infrastructure, but also in an attractive location between a forest, gardens, a shopping centre and a well-known housing estate.
Customized Čerešne residential houses represent architecture where the design of each building is adjusted to the residents’ specific utilitarian and aesthetic criteria for a calm and pleasant family life. A semi-public open space for relaxation and leisure-time activities has been carefully created on the patio of the first part of the complex. Community gardens, children´s playgrounds, crossfit zones and club premises are designed for developing good relationships with neighbours. Each building has been designed according to different principles with the aim of reaching a wide variety of environments as opposed to the privacy and intimacy of residential premises which are, however, always enriched with different forms of front gardens, balconies and terraces with greenery and trees. The comfort of residents of the new Čerešne city district is enhanced by vertical layering of comfortable and safe underground parking, a public business parterre, parking, and a semi-public patio with private front gardens, through residential floors with specifically designed entrances, staircases and railings of individual houses to variable roof configuration of terraces of maisonettes and the “parasite” building with a panoramic view of the surrounding natural scenery. The countryside and gardens of Čerešne, a new urban structure project, are inspired by Bratislava´s cherry-tree gardens which form the history of the territory, while motives of cherry blossoms, trees and structures are reflected in architectonic details of colourful mosaics, concrete reliefs and in the design of lighting. The monumental architectonic structure of a red “cloud” puts the finishing touch to the complex. Čerešne will gradually grow into a luxurious urban environment with variable housing typologies, houses and apartments of variable shapes, heights and façades, with diverse configurations of terraces, loggias and balconies; an active environment connected to nature and the surrounding countryside.
