Article source: Giorgia Dennerlein The italian architetct Giorgia Dennerlein realizes a residence in Parioli area with pop colors and decorations merging with rationalist elements from 1950s. Giorgia Dennerlein renovates the apartment of a young roman entrepreneur, owner of some important luxury boutique hotels and art collector. The residence is conceived as a place to “welcome”, as a representative house.
The 260 sq.m. apartment is located in a fifties building keeping the original layout with a large entrance and a narrow corridor. Dennerlein redistributes the environments by expanding the spaces. The entrance hall becomes the central space of the house that forms a single large room with the living area connecting this with the sleeping area composed of three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The narrow corridor has been enlarged and an open kitchen, separated by large glass walls, has been created near it. The living area is a single large room in which spaces and functions are defined through furnishings and floorings. In the entrance/corridor were created Bisazza parquet carpets with black and white geometric patterns and walls covered with Wall&Deco wallpaper. There are also two works by Franco Angeli and the appliques designed by Loto Ad Project firm. In living and dining room, the flooring is the original one preserved unaltered. For the main living room Giorgia Dennerlein has chosen Essential, the circular sofa by Edra combined with the Greta armchairs by Baxter, the Glas Italia tables and the Moooi rug. The work by Franco Ionda, Light Box, stands out in the space. On one side the room communicates with the TV area, in which predominate shades of red of the Absolut sofa by Edra; on the other side with the dining room furnished with table and chairs by Dom Editions and chandelier by Barovier and Toso. A floor lamp by Fontana Arte was inserted for the lighting, while all the joinery work in the rooms was carried out according to a studio project. The kitchen, a space that acts as a filter for the rooms, is made to misure by Loto Ad Project and separated by glass walls also designed by the studio. The original characters of rationalist inspiration, the furnishings and the original lights of the fifties are reinterpreted and combined with elements of pop taste with strong and provocative colors. The house is an eclectic “container of spaces” and works of art characterized by the contrasts of styles. Contact Giorgia Dennerlein
