Designing houses is no longer just about their functionality, but also about whether they are fashionable, hit the customer’s taste. They surprise. Architecture is one of those fields that is influenced by many trends from other areas. Much also results from the expectations of customers, but the architects are the creators. They are the ones who create unique blocks, in which we want to live, and recent years in design show that we do not like cliché and boredom. This is perfectly understood by architect Marcin Tomaszewski, who as the creative director of REFORM Architekt created a completely innovative concept of mirror houses. They perfectly fit into the environment, sometimes even merge with it into one whole.

“Mirror houses are actually endless possibilities. So far, every mirror house I have designed is different. One project is a complete mirror house, the other only half because the facade is covered with material only on the first floor. Another one looks like two separate houses, but only when you look closer you can see that this solution was applied in the middle\”, says architect Marcin Tomaszewski.

What exactly are mirror houses? The term is used to describe a block of a house with a traditional structure, whose external elevation is finished with a material imitating a mirror.

“In my projects I use alucobond – an aluminium composite panel consisting of two external aluminium sheets filled with a mineral core. Such a panel can have mirror-like properties or remain in a neutral color,” adds Marcin Tomaszewski.

Awarded in the European Property Awards 2020-2021 RE: MIRROR HOUSE 3.0 was also recognized! It was named “Winner”; in its category.

“This year has been extremely busy for me and my studio. I must admit that all these awards and distinctions are a great motivation for us. Five stars for RE: LAKESIDE HOUSE is a big distinction and, above all, satisfaction that our studio has been appreciated on the international arena” says Marcin Tomaszewski.

This is another great award for REFORM Architekt, which in its projects constantly surprises with vision and strength of concept. The last period has proven that the houses designed by Marcin Tomaszewski, the architect, not only please and serve their owners but also impress jurors evaluating architecture all over the world.
