If there is something that makes you fall in love with this house when you enter, it is the light that floods every corner.

And it is the light that comes from the Cantabrian Sea that is right in front of it, in the Sardinero Beach in Santander, inviting you to a walk on the sand and enjoy the freedom of the breeze that comes through the windows with the smell of saltpeter.

The studio of interior designer Mara Pardo wanted to preserve the old air of this stately home that she found in poor condition, recovering the height of the ceilings and maintaining the original woodwork of the windows, offering the opportunity for a new life after a disastrous reform of the 60s that destroyed moldings and the original distribution, dividing the plant into 2 houses.

The kitchen, in the same gray color of the old windows, was integrated with large sliding doors that disappear completely according to the need of each moment of conviviality.

The dining room, close to the bay window and the kitchen, becomes the protagonist of all eyes framed by a North Star.

Sitting on the sofa or on the veranda, you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of vacationers and in winter the sound of the sea, which, with the empty beach, reaches the house.

Tolomeo wall lights by Artemide, LS 990 mechanisms by Jung and the black \”componibili\” by Kartell add a very contemporary touch among the soft textiles by Pardo Interior in the master bedroom.

The balloons of Juanjo Viota’s work float on the wall and mark a yellow thread that is linked in the chairs, the sofa or the details of the Pardo Family tableware and that runs through the house to the bedrooms.
