This new hub provides a space for all the town’s cultural events. Stripped of any pretentiousness, the building defines itself as a metal-clad cultural hall. With its hangar-like appearance, the architecture withdraws, handing the space over to the cultural events taking place.
The foyer with its glazed façade provides passers-by with views over the activities taking place inside.
In this way, the building’s internal organisation meets the expectations of residents, performers and the town itself through its facilities and structure. To be able to stage a wide range of events, this cultural multiplex is designed to be modular. Its versatility allows the combination of various art forms, such as singing, theatre, dance and even circus.
The Quai des Arts has been designed to offer comfort and practicality to both the public and the performers. The theatre spaces are equipped with high performance acoustic insulation to avoid any noise nuisances.
The Quai des Arts in Argentan seeks to be the new cultural event setting in the Basse-Normandie region.
