Article source: L&P Architects L&P Architects has won the first place of an invited competition and been appointed to be the lead design architect for the Wuhan Dowell Science Park project. Aiming to accommodate the start-up Small and Medium Enterprises that specialize in innovation and technology industry, L&P focuses on creating public spaces such as interactive plaza, gathering points and other outdoor facilities that allow for the future collaborations and interaction opportunities. Providing flexible and contemplating spaces is the key to help the young creative talents, also known to be the “brain community” of Wuhan next generation.
Wuhan Dowell Science Park is located in the Dongxi Lake Area of Wuhan Lingkong Port which is a part of the new airport town. Wuhan is strategically centered within China geography which makes the city as one of the fastest growths and most reachable cities in China. With its convenient distance and location, WDSP anticipates not only the local SME but also the HQ enterprises from other major cities. The project includes two 70m tall office towers, three garden-style office buildings, nine incubation office buildings featuring an exclusive sunken garden and commercial street retail. The project presents a comprehensive and in-depth rethinking of contemporary workspace design tailored to serve the tech and creative community. The development is equipped with vibrant office spaces, street-facing retail, and public areas that attempts to push the boundaries of the conventional office design in order to create a favorable environment that is not only suitable for work but also lifestyle for the brain community.
