MVC store | Sportful Castelli Karpos in Seren del Grappa, Italy by ds_A architettura – Dario Scanavacca architettoJanuary 19th, 2023 by Sumit Singhal
Article source: ds_A architettura – Dario Scanavacca architetto The building brings together the three brands of the company Manifattura Valcismon S.p.A. – Sportful, Castelli, Karpos – in a single commercial space of 1,500 square meters of covered area located a few steps from the group’s historical headquarters. The building is spread over an area of 8,700 square meters on a single above-ground level with an irregularly shaped floor plan, where a secondary volume is grafted to the main building. The main volume is articulated in six irregular pitches with different slopes and inclinations intended to recall the skyline of the surrounding pre-Alpine peaks while the secondary volume, of more modest impact, is concluded by a flat roof.
The three functions that the building incorporates (store, bar, changing rooms for sports activities) are connected from the inside and are closely interconnected in order to ensure complete usability of the spaces by customers. However, their complete autonomy is ensured by the possibility of closing the internal connections between them allowing the proper functioning of individual activities. The building consists of a load-bearing masonry structure in reinforced concrete and a roof made of x-lam wood panels supported by a primary and secondary laminated fir wood; on the external side, a rock wool coat ensures the proper insulation of the building, improved by a ventilated wall made with HPL. The roof, which is not ventilated in compliance with the specific climatic conditions of the site is made in double-joined sheet metal, a solution that, moreover, favors the collection of rainwater and its conveyance in pipes concealed within the masonry. Large structural glass windows, distributed around the perimeter of the building capture as much natural light as possible, allowing artificial lighting to be limited. On the roof, a large skylight, with a strong architectural character, brings zenithal light to the center of the space. For the purpose of compliance with the regulations on renewable energy obligations, a photovoltaic canopy made of laminated wood placed along the southern boundary developing a power of 36 kwp was built. In addition, 5 electric car charging stations and 2 e-bike charging stations have been provided. Particular attention has been paid to the overall energy consumption of the building by avoiding the use of fossil fuels and preferring low-temperature heat pump systems. Outdoor green areas planted with native tree essences and honey bee preservation complete the design of this modern commercial building. Tags: Italy, Seren del Grappa |
