Article source: Domper arquitectura Located in a residential urbanization in Monzón (Huesca), the AURA building is made up of 14 single-family homes in a row, 12 of them between medians facing SE-NW, and 2 homes of three facades in the testeros. The front of the plot is configured as a private outdoor space, for public use, which provides each dwelling with a pedestrian and vehicle access zone, which allows its occupation as outdoor parking for vehicles. Behind it, the garage “boxes” are located, and among them, pedestrian access to each home. The main construction of 2 heights and the volume of 1-height garages are separated by a landscaped interior patio. On the rear façade are the gardens of each house, related to the day stays. Plant The ground floor is distributed from a hall and has a living room, kitchen with utility room, a toilet and a room. Through a built-in staircase of a single section, you access the distributor of the first floor, which articulates the rooms (one en suite) and the general bathroom. The houses are developed in a single structure bay, so the program is distributed on a free plant; In addition, the vertical structure is solved by means of concrete screens reinforced with a small section integrated into the thickness of the dividing walls between houses, to the shape of load-bearing walls, avoiding the appearance of cavities in the distribution and generating clean and easy to occupy rooms.  Image Courtesy © Domper arquitectura  Image Courtesy © Domper arquitectura In the design of the building, it is a matter of avoiding the monotonous seriation effect typical of this typology. construction, through the alternate use of symmetry and asymmetry in the distribution of housing in the row, together with the use of formal, volumetric and material resources. The building is on both façades there is a low volume in the foreground (in one case the garage, in another the living room and porch); behind him the main bar of the building, broken down into multiple volumes of different heights and materializations. At the compositional level, the will of the design is reinforced through the application of solid colors in different planes and volumes, the game of heights of walls and enclosures, the recessed joints in the extension of jambs and lintels and the painting of the same jambs and lintels in consequently, achieving a volumetric and quartering effect. AURA is a building that responds efficiently and rationally to the criteria of the promotion real estate; maximum program in the smallest area, minimization of distribution spaces, optimization of the structural solution and of the material and formal design and rationalization of the constructive solutions.
