JINDESIGN：Yuesheng·Yanyuan—A Multidimensional Interconnected Energy Field
In 2022, a thriving cluster emerged in Xingtai, led by Huawei’s Big Data Industrial Park and Yuesheng·Yanyuan, representing the region’s industrial prowess. Adjacent to the Xingtai East Station, a pivotal junction in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei corridor, these entities rapidly interconnect information, human capital, and resources, weaving a robust spatial industrial network.

1001 Water Street, serves as a welcoming community hub to the new neighborhood, connecting its occupants with nature to support the health and well-being of tenants and the wider community. COOKFOX drew inspiration from the native ecology of Florida and its architectural vernacular to inform the massing, organization and detailing of the building. The rigorous modern grid of the building exterior is punctured by a series of deep verandas on each corner of the tower to provide access to outdoor terrace gardens from nearly every office floor.

Our project is nestled in the heart of GaoZhuang, the birthplace of the Dai ethnic culture in Xishuangbanna. This land has nurtured a wealth of cultural traditions and the marvels of nature.
The two structures are divided by a central promenade, with distinct businesses occupying either side. On the left-hand side, there is a spa center, while on the right-hand side, there is a restaurant. This corridor not only connects the two sides but also provides a sense of privacy to each individual space.
Outdoor Chon Buri
The air bestows freshness, the vegetation breathes life, and the stones endow primal strength. Seemingly simple, little do we know that all of this is nature’s most magnificent adornment, as well as the bond that merges us with nature.
The primary design inspiration for the restaurant draws from the commonplace leaves found in the local tropical rainforest. Yet, it is these unassuming leaves that, like a perpetual spring, flow ceaselessly, upholding the equilibrium and harmony of the entire rainforest with every breath.
The concept of \”taking inspiration from nature,\” drawing from the inherent forms found in the natural world, and learning from nature to incorporate it into architectural design. We use materials that appear similar, making only minimal design enhancements, reducing the artificial decorative feel. This approach allows the building to have a more natural and harmonious atmosphere.
In the extended space beyond the staircase, we’ve chosen to employ the traditional bamboo weaving technique of the Dai people from Xishuangbanna, creating a profound connection with nature within this environment, as if seamlessly melding the realms of the inside and outside. Here, you’ll encounter not only a unique panoramic experience but also the rejuvenating force of nature.
As we create experiential spaces for humanity, we have made a conscious effort not to displace or disrupt the lives of the “indigenous people”. We have artistically preserved the homes of the birds, and every intricate design element has been meticulously crafted to pay the utmost respect to nature and seamlessly integrate the building into the fabric of the rainforest.
Within the courtyard: Encircled by trees or red bricks, the courtyard blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. This captivating courtyard offers a genuine connection with nature, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serenity and beauty it provides.
Indoor Chon Buri
Within the restaurant’s interior, small wooden bridges and green slate stones are artfully arranged, enveloped by luxuriant foliage. This arrangement evokes a sense of anticipation and intrigue for customers.
We’ve curated an abundance of wooden and bamboo furnishings, collectively crafting an immersive ambiance that transports diners into the heart of a thriving rainforest. This promises a distinctive and indelible dining experience for our customers.
What we are exploring is the marvelous experience of harmonizing space, the body, and nature in perfect resonance.The Serene Beauty of Minimalism: The spa center draws inspiration from minimalism, simplifying space to its utmost essence, creating a profound sense of tranquility. Here, the complexities of the world are replaced by silence, allowing you to find serenity in a pure environment.
With a gentle touch, the newest addition to campus preserves the past and prepares the future.
The oldest brick structure in the area, the Federal House at Penn State Behrend is gracefully preserved and repurposed by an expansive addition. A light and spacious modern barn slips into the steeply graded site linking to the restored Federal House by way of an elegant, glass bridge to preserve and elevate the historically significant building.
Located on a prominent site along the East River, against the backdrop of rapidly built skyscraper condominiums, the 22,000 square foot Queens Public Library at Hunters Point stands as a public building and public park, bringing community-devoted space to the Long Island City waterfront.
Resisting recent trends of incorporating public libraries and much-needed social space within high-end residential towers, the Hunters Point Library stands independently, rising with a minimal footprint on its 32,000 square foot site to offer maximum surrounding green space to the local community and becoming an integrated part of the vibrant public park that lines the river’s edge.
Tangshan Blue Bay Town Project is located on the southeast coast of Leting County, Tangshan City and on the north side of Tangshan Bay International Tourism Island. As a commercial center of the project, the town center is located at the southwest corner of the project base, where Xiangying Road and Haijing Avenue join at 70 degrees in a narrow and long triangle land to define the land area with functions including life experience hall and community facilities.
As the first portal to communicate with city interface, we consider how to make the architecture efficient and reasonable: 1. A suitable site; 2. A landmark city interface; 3. Overall project architecture style to effectively connect neo Chinese style; 4. To create multi-layer public space and urban life.
The interface facing the city road is set with two strips and opens to the road intersection to form a display surface with an open frontcourt space and a shallow mirror pool as a buffer zone with the city environment, presenting a quiet and elegant posture.
Scenic Architecture designed a series of buildings for public services in the Runway Park, which was renovated from 100-year old Longhua airport located at the west bank of Huangpu River, Shanghai. This project is a concentrated part of the whole series with three buildings including a community pavilion, a coffee shop, and a restaurant.
Yiwu Foreign Languages School, designed by the LYCS Architecture, is now in use and has just completed its first semester.It is located in the main urban area of Yiwu, Zhejiang Province,with 48 classes of elementary schools and 24 classes of junior high schools. As the first project of returned overseas Chinese, it’s also one of the typical practices of teaching space design issuesComfort scale in high density urban that have been continuously researched by LYCS Architecture.
The former laboratory building situated at Eternitten is a fantastic setting for GAME Streetmekka Aalborg. The production building from 1963 testifies to the industrial history of the neighborhood with its raw and distinctive character, almost demanding to be conquered by urban street culture. Our main concept is to merge the informal nature of street activities into the existing laboratory building frames, creating spatial 'experiments' that inspire new connections between the many activities. Rather than separating them, an urban melting pot is created that encourages spontaneous activity and surprising events.
The Bentway is transforming a 1.75km space under Toronto’s Gardiner Expressway into a vibrant public place where visitors can experience a diverse mix of activities and programs. The initial phase – from Strachan Avenue to Bathurst Street – reinvigorates the area beneath the expressway into a vital artery for pedestrians and cyclists, stitching together seven neighbourhoods, expanding access to key areas such as the Fort York National Historic Site, and creating a new gathering place for Toronto’s growing population. The multifunctional space is an expression of Toronto’s unique creative energy and serves as an example of how the re-use of infrastructure can support new forms of public life.
