A part of the Central Artery Tunnel Project, the Leonard P. Zakim Bridge is the widest cable-stayed bridge in the world and the only asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge in the United States. The 1,475’ (449.5m) structure features twin inverted Y-shaped towers and a 745’ (227m) main span.
The “Na-Druk-Geluk-Brug” is part of the new public space around the Olympic stadium in the Noord-Zuid As area of Amsterdam. The 1928 Olympic stadium was completely renovated and updated to contemporary standards in the late nineties while considering the spirit of the original design made by Jan Wils.
Canaletto understood Venice as a timeless place composed from exceptions. Inspired by the artisan tradition of glass, we searched the possibility of creating a transparent glass structure made solid though the geometry of every piece and the union between them. The structural design is based on two concentric skins that linked by circulation elements make a structural arch. The circulation paths modify the geometry of the bridge giving an asymmetrical position on top of the Grand Canal.

Concept
The Smedenpoort, a historical gateway to the city of Bruges from the 13th-14th century, is in its current state to narrow to organize a fluid traffic of cars, pedestrians and cyclists. The city of Bruges decided in concertation with the Commission of Monuments and Landscapes to add new footbridges on the both sides of the existing building.
ROTTERDAM – 14 June 2013 – OMA’s design for a new bridge across the river Garonne in Bordeaux has been selected as one of two final competing projects by the city authorities. OMA’s stripped-down design for the Pont Jean-Jacques Bosc attempts to rethink the civic function and symbolism of a 21st century bridge.
The design for the tension band bridge was developed in cooperation of ANNABAU (architects) and Schüßler-Plan (structural engineers) in the context of a competition for the „Landesgartenschau Tirschenreuth 2013“ (Garden Festival Upper Palatinate, Bavaria, Germany) and was selected for implementation.

The architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) together with Knippers Helbig, Structural Engineers, have won first prize in the limited implementation competition for the new construction of a pedestrian and cycle bridge across the Baakenhafen basin in HafenCity. The jury decided unanimously in favour of the design, which was followed in the ranking by two third places for Ingenhoven Architects, in cooperation with Werner Sobek, and R+ Architects, in cooperation with Dr. Binnewies, Engineering Consultants.

Designed by specialist bridge design consultancy Knight Architects following a competitive tender in 2011, the spectacular NZ$32m Lower Hatea Crossing was officially opened on 27 July 2013.
Structure
The structure consists of a steel spine cantilevering around from a 3-dimensional braced ring structure approximately 16m in diameter. The spine is a hybrid structure with the ‘root’ section conceived as a diagrid/shell structure and the tip as a shell structure. Steel plates clad the surface of the walkways whilst horizontal bracing provides additional longitudinal stiffness.
An elegant and slender steel cable stayed pedestrian bridge was built as part of the Revere Transit Facility and Streetscape Project. It has become an important link to historic Revere Beach, America’s first public beach, established in 1896. The main span of the bridge is 107’ (32.5m) and the overall length is 151’ (46m).
