It is not unusual for adjoining buildings to become architecturally connected. But this project’s story is one of a kind: in the former imperial city of Dinkelsbühl, noa* has succeeded in giving different architectural identities, each with its own history and peculiarities, a common face.
The medieval town of Dinkelsbühl lies along southern Germany’s Romantic Road and marks the centroid of the Stuttgart-Munich-Nuremberg geographical triangle. It is one of Germany’s best-preserved historical centres, with ancient city walls, defensive moats and traditional half-timbered houses. In this unique urban fabric, opposite the Cathedral of St. George, the newly designed five-star hotel Goldene Rose welcomes its guests today. The house boasts a lively building history, which has now found a new perspective.
For this project, we made a new office building for the Ribeirão Preto Shared Fuel Base. The building is developed on two floors. The new Learning Commons at Kettering University complements the school’s unique curriculum with a facility that is focused on collaboration, ideation, and digital technology.
The 105,000-square-foot Learning Commons incorporates building systems that speak to the permanence and longevity of the institution while offering durability for the decades ahead. The four-story design is centers around an open-air atrium and skylight that fills the entire interior space with natural light. The first and second floors feature public gathering, dining, and collaborative spaces, focused on creating dynamic social spaces for students. The third and fourth floors house additional collaborative spaces and environments for research, student support, media resources, individual focus, and group project work.
A new Sport Equipment arranged in an L-shape at the south-eastern corner of the stadium. It opens towards the entrance to the site and the football field and contains the forecourt and landscaped areas.
The building consists of two registers, two elements that attract and meet without touching. A first element, anchored to the ground, constitutes the base of the building and integrates the entire program. The second element, suspended, makes up the roof and canopy of the equipment.
This project is located on Antonio Ferrandis Street and is part of the P.P. Quatre Carreres. The location is especially privileged because it is located on the southern edge of the city, separating two radically opposite plots and scales, admiring the large expanse of orchard that extends to the Albufera Natural Park and with visual continuity to the sea.
