The project consists of the interior design of the Edge Innovation Center, a new aspirational and status business destination in Egypt. It is located in Giza’s Galleria40, a brand new retail and business complex.
The client wanted to create a unique, high-end workplace environment, conceived to be Cairo’s premier business and conferences facility. Edge provides a flexible, modern, and premium workspace to entrepreneurs, individuals, start-ups, fast-growing businesses, large companies, and agencies.
The building parameters of the Business Center focus on the creation of a new building to support the Industrial Park activities. Its architectural character develops the combination of diverse perspectives and factors. Its materialization manifests itself in the design of the façade, in the relation of the spaces of the building and in the metaphorical presence of the “natural” elements of topography, the large green area and the variations of the light. The established relations are not static, but rather dynamic. We intend to establish relationships that are open, flexible, mutant and adapt to the life and use of the building and exterior aspects that derive from the natural elements such as: the topography, the vegetation and the intensity of the light. The result materializes in the presence of a building that levitates over a void space and establishes spaces.

The Shop is a comprehensive co-working development that is located on the third and forth floors of the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) in downtown New Orleans, one of New Orleans’ most important cultural institutions. Targeting technology, arts, and cultural-based businesses, The Shop serves as a hub of entrepreneurship in the developing Downtown innovation corridor.
Located in a historic 1920 former warehouse, the building was used as the headquarters for K&B, a local drugstore and soda fountain until the CAC acquired the building in the mid-1970s. The top two floors of the CAC have historically been underutilized, with The Shop marking the first large-scale renovation of that space in the last forty years.
JGMA’s design strategy for the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Center utilizes building transparency to showcase machines, equipment, and products integral to the learning objectives of the colleges as well as provide a visual connection to the surrounding West Lawn community. The seamless fluidity to the building’s form was inspired by the constant and linear flow of the manufacturing process. The building spans the main thoroughfare of 76th Street with a strong industrial bridge that links the south and north campus of Richard J. Daley College.

Central to the building is a covered grand hall, with three large office wings that form patios on each side of the hall, offering dynamic spaces for expansion. On the top floor the building proposes offices with an important relationship with outside spaces.
