Wednesday, July 16th, 2014

Article source: Rocco Design Architects Ltd.

Situated in the famed resort area of Moganshan, the Gowin Golf Manor serves as a clubhouse for golfers, but also offers a small number of guest rooms to house overnight visitors. The rooms overlook the golf course and are lifted slightly, and held to one side of a central atrium while the public functions are grouped on the other side. The disparate functions of the clubhouse are distinguished by a unique set of materials including zinc, stone, and glass; together they create a multi-storey space pierced by angled ramps and sky bridges.

A CLUBHOUSE FOR VVW BLANKENBERGE in Belgium by BURO II & ARCHI+I

Sunday, June 29th, 2014

Article source: BURO II & ARCHI+I

For years now, the Vlaamse Vereniging voor Watersport (Flemish Aquatics Association) was in dire need of a new clubhouse. The club received a 27 year concession for the lot at the end of the Oude Wenduinse Steenweg and the Bevrijdingsplein, between the former sluice dock and the harbour channel.

The basic idea for the new clubhouse is the intertwining of water, land and tourism. Not only did they focus on the layout, but also the functionality of the building, which will become a public attraction as well as a haven for hikers.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2014

Article source: AZL ARCHITECTS

Located near the wetlands west of central Hangzhou, the Xixi Artists’ Club is laid out like a village with five units.  Each cluster relies on three Y-shaped volumes in two sizes, capped with six- and three-metre-square frameless windows, creating panoramas of the surrounding landscape.  Twisting fiberglass installations work with the cubic structure to redefine internal spaces and join walls, floors, and ceilings together.

Article source: SLADE ARCHITECTURE

The Newark Clubhouse brings together NYC’s downtown flair and Virgin Atlantic’s warmth and individuality.

A constellation of sparkling pinpoint lights draws you into the sculpted entry passage. Punctuated by a sky lit receptionist at a specular desk, the entry sequence creates an extended decompression zone between the busy terminal and the relaxed luxury of the clubhouse; a dramatic immersion into the Virgin Atlantic experience.

Bada Bing in Montreux, Switzerland by Bureau A

Saturday, October 12th, 2013

Article source: Bureau A

James Gandolfini died on the 19th of June 2013, a few weeks before the 47th Montreux Jazz Festival. He was the leading character of one of HBO’s best series: The Sopranos. He embodied the complete range of clichés of the Italian American mafia developed beforehand by great film directors such as Martin Scorsese or Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfellas in 1990 for the first, The Godfather in 1972 for the second).

Friday, May 31st, 2013

Article source: Wamhouse

“Stolarnia” is the sixth design in the collection called “XII”, entirely designed by Karina Wiciak. “Stolarnia” (in Polish – Carpenter’s Shop) was inspired by the landscapes of the Bory Tucholskie National Park, near which the author lives and works.
According to the author, a forest is a unique carpenter’s shop, where the nature uses wood and plants to create the most beautiful forms.

“XII” collection – part V “Szklarnia” in Chojnice, Poland by Wamhouse

Friday, April 26th, 2013

Article source: Wamhouse

“Szklarnia” is the fifth and March (2013) part of the collection called “XII”, entirely designed by Karina Wiciak. Usually, restaurant owners care about not having their establishment demolished, but here someone has made quite a mess…At first glance, the “Szklarnia” looks like a demolished establishment. A place where the customers are not too well-behaved and release their gangster inclinations… But this is no “Fight Club”, but another interior in which the author’s fantasy is a pretext for creating an unusual decoration.
