Due to urban developments in the city of Leiden, the Marecollege had to move to a new location. At the Sumatrastraat, an abandoned existing school building was transformed into a new school building that was fit for the Marecollege, a secondary Waldorf school with 450 students.
Two new buildings by Bennetts Associates have recently been completed for St Antony’s College in Oxford.
The five-storey Gateway Buildings are a significant addition to St Antony’s estate, defining a new presence for the College on one of the main routes serving the city centre. The project comprises a new main entrance, Porters’ Lodge, 54 en-suite study bedrooms, offices for
College staff and meeting/work space within glazed rooftop pavilions.
I used to live in a college for so many years. There the students were distributed in sunny rooms or darkness rooms. Due to I never got the needed status and college prestige, I could never be moved to the sunny rooms. It seemed that students from these sunny rooms were happier and with better color as we used to have painful look.
Portland Community College (PCC), Oregon’s largest institution of higher learning, serves residents in five counties. Its mission is to “advance the region’s long-term vitality by delivering accessible, quality education to support the academic, professional, and personal development of the…communities PCC serve(s)”.
Reorganization of an old agricultural college to include four meeting rooms, classrooms, activity rooms – Construction of a building of 1050 m² including an auditorium with 300 seats, a dance studio, a gym, a foyer and a exhibition space. With its terrace filled with magnificent trees and traditional houses, the Place de l’Abbaye is one of the most beautiful places in the village of La Châtre.
The Dean of Students’ Building functions as the academic and social hub of the School of Engineering in Be’er Sheba University. Its modest program is structured around a terraced three story public space of the different departments. It is designed in exposed concrete in relationship to the old concrete campus of the 50’s to match the modern Architectural language of the School of Mechanical Engineering Complex.
The building defining a friendly co-existence between small scale private housing and large healthcare institutions in the park. The new collage building is located in between two dormitories to maintain the buffer zone between private houses and large buildings.
The project proposes a building that is based on the integration in the surrounding environment characterized by single-family luxury homes, volumes somewhat fragmented, with balconies and rooftops. Thus, in this context, we maintain very distinctive identity on Avenue Marechal Gomes da Costa (the surrounding haracterized by this avenue, with an urban character of low density allows easy access to major highways and ensures stability of the building pattern of the area), and created a proposal for a volume that integrates elements of popular architecture and contemporary design with presenting a building with residential architecture characteristics.Therefore, the volume proposed is defined by the rhythms of the architectonic gramar, by the glazed openings and based upon the design of a family house.
The Shipping and Transport College (STC) is a vocational training institute offering lower and intermediate level courses serving the entire chain of shipping, ports, transport and logistics, and port-side oil and chemical industries. The building contributes to the redevelopment of Rotterdam’s Waalhaven district as a location for business offices and educational facilities.
