The site is a vital liaison point between the centre of Saint-Etienne and the new Chateaucreux neighbourhood, to which it forms a major entranceway. It also constitutes a pole grouping several government bodies that will set up there : Regional Development Authority, Tax Services, Epora, Saint-Etienne Métropole, and so on. Service and leisure facilities will also be part of the mix: shared corporate restaurant, café, tourism bureau for the metropiltan area.
Lightfold is a lobby design for the new One Kearny commercial development in the heart of downtown San Francisco’s Gallery District, adjacent to the museums of the Yerba Buena Arts District. The project is conceived and funded as architecture as public art. The lobby constitutes the ‘percent for art’ requirement for the building as an integral piece of the architecture. It was subsequently approved by the SF Arts Commission.

The new Western Concourse at King’s Cross opens to the public on Monday 19th March 2012. “The transformation of King’s Cross station by John McAslan + Partners represents a compelling piece of place-making for London. The show-piece is clearly the Western Concourse – Europe’s largest single span station structure and the heart of the development, but the overall project is far more complex: an extraordinary, collaborative effort that has delivered an internationally significant transport interchange, fit for the 21st century and beyond. We are very proud of our role as lead architects and master-planners of the King’s Cross redevelopment, and it’s immensely satisfying to see the project delivered on time, ready for the capital’s celebration of the London Olympics later this year.”

Historically, Metalsa began as a family-owned company, founded by Guillermo Zambrano Gutierrez in November 1956, previously named Manufacturas Metalicas Monterrey. The company later entered the automotive industry through a partnership with American firm A. O. Smith and began manufacturing chassis frames for heavy trucks and pickups in the late 60’s. The official name of Metalsa was adopted in the late 70’s and operations started in Apodaca. Metalsa’s successes allowed them to acquire the commercial vehicles business from Tower Automotive expanding to Virginia, and later building facilities in China, Japan and India. Today the company boasts several major automotive corporations as their clients, including Ford and Toyota.

Site: A 100,000 square foot vacant parcel located within a new Research and Technology Innovation Park developed by the Mexican government. The site is also adjacent to the Monterrey, Mexico airport and adjoins a natural habitat area.
The beginning of the project was based on the gills of the manta ray. How from one surface it’s divide himself to making progressive openings. The complete geometry is triangulated to make more architectonic effects.
The space is created by 40 stripes of 25cm width, where each one deform, twist, reduces width, pull up and down for making the functions of; presentation, communication, sitting, table, desk, lights openings, storage.

“Rhythm in Steel as an Aesthetic Experience”
Established in the 14th century, Isleta Pueblo maintains strong ties to traditional values. The Tribal Services Complex is located in the foothills between the Rio Grande Bosque and Manzano Mountains, and is strategically placed in a natural depression, flanked by two preserved promontories. The complex co-locates Fire, Police, E911, Courts, Council, Administration, Wellness and Vehicle Fleet. Lower levels house public safety and tribal leadership, while the upper plaza level/s serve public needs. The architectural imprint acknowledges an ephemeral existence – to blend harmoniously with the land through time. The aim was to create a sense of unity around a center and acknowledge tradition:
gathering (proto-urban assemblages around a “middle place”)
alignment (sun, moon, sacred directions)
harmony with natural surroundings (earth-water-air-fire-spiritual)
prehistory (function & belief based architectural chronology)
