Noiz in collaboration with the curator Fabrice Douar and Lucie Lom, designed the exhibition space for : “L’OUVRE 9: Open the Louvre’s 9th Art Comic Collection” at the MoNTUE (Museum of Taipei University of Education) in Taipei, Taiwan. The site is both meaningful and familiar, as Noiz has designed the museum interior and a series of exhibitions for MoNTUE since their opening in 2012. It was, therefore, an exciting experience to be able to revamp the space one more time.

The table and the black shed organize the gallery space of BWA Design in Wrocław for an exhibition on Food Think Tank project ‘Earth and Water’. The objects are made of remains from previous gallery exhibitions and scraps from conservation works of Wrocław’s Parks and Recreation department – branches and stumps. The objects organize the gallery space into two sections: bright one with the table and a dark one with the Black Shed – a hybrid of an arbor and an incubator.
The Artist Colony in Baia Mare started from the initial summer colonizations which took place every year from 1896 till 1901. In 1898 these temporary settlements were joined by the individual permanent colonization of many artists who have spent in Baia Mare shorter or longer periods of their artistic biography, thus being decisive in the establishment of a genuine permanent institutional structure known as “Colonia pictorilor”. Nowadays Colonia is represented by multiple exhibition spaces and workshops, a generous space offered to the artists, members of the Association of Plastic Artists Union.
The Piraeus and the city of Athens together form a complex metropolitan area in which the presence of an archipelago of spaces emerges clearly from the dense low-rise fabrics’ layer of the houses. The islands of this archipelago could be considered the eminent mountains, hills, sporadic open spaces, thick industrial buffers and a myriad of gardens. In a way, here the Cyclades are mirrored to form a reverse: where the docking to one of those “islands” often means to get a breath. “Kanari Island” and “Ietionian Gate” are two twin islands placed next to the Piraeus Port, even if not directly connected with the sea and not even to each other, still their opposite topography makes the docking to them two completely different experiences. The relationship between these two islands is the framework in which this proposal has to be collocated. Both for the visitors and for the residents, the “Kanari Island” has a central role due to its position: it is a contemporary urban gate for the city.
