The design process has been focused onto architectural qualities that could produce an economical affordable building. In order to produce an architecture that could be part of the local identity and connected to the urban landscape the main idea was to organize a workshop that could use human resources to build the structure and to connect this work with the local community.

‘Public area’ is further than ‘Private area’ and it is necessity to make a ‘collectivity life’ through the city community and civil society. Moreover, the character of Public area is the character of the city and quality of public area shows the standard of the city.

Marronnier park couldn’t positioned between ‘neighborhood park’ and ‘public area’ before. Until now, every ruins of desire is accumulated, for instance functions, facilities and sculptures that doesn’t harmonized each other.

20 prepared dc-motors, 81 cardboard boxes 70x70x70cm in Mannheim, Germany by Zimoun + Hannes Zweifel

Thursday, November 20th, 2014

Article source: Zimoun + Hannes Zweifel

The installation is comprised of 81 cardboard boxes of 70x70x70 cm which are suspended on the ceiling in a grid of 80×80 cm. The boxes hang between floor and ceiling and  can be seen from two different levels. 20 dc-motors are mounted and distributed along the handrail of the first floor. When activated, they set the boxes in motion by means of thinn nylon ropes connected vertically to the individual boxes, causing them to move with varying intensity and directions. Since the spaces between the boxes are small, the movement of one box is affecting neighboring boxes, leading to a very complex overall performance of the suspension, which constantly changes and progresses. The collision of the boxes and the friction caused when they collide gives rise to a multitude of sounds and noises. The acoustic perspective changes as the viewer moves along the exhibition space and can be experienced in constantly new ways. This installation was conceptualized, developed and presented in joint collaboration between Zimoun (artist) and Hannes Zweifel (architect).

Fusionner3.0-The air house in Aichi, Japan by Kotaro Horiuchi Architecture

Thursday, August 21st, 2014

Article source: Kotaro Horiuchi Architecture

Exhibition Kotaro Horiuchi 2014 “Fusionner 3.0”
From the 7th of May to the 10th of June 2014 there were the exhibit of Kotaro Horiuchi’s project called « Fusionner 3.0 » 2014 at Shukutoku University of Aichi’s gallery.

Fusionner
« Fusionner » comes from a French word meaning « to merge ». The architecture merge in the town just like renovations merge into inside space. Everything happens without imposing in the place. The most important thing is the inside of those places, the content with someone, or should we say, a group of people who will be actors of the activities that will take place in that space. To emphasise on those activities, the existence of architectural place or a place, which evolve smoothly, is necessary.
