The 250sqm site runs east to west and is surrounded by two buildings, a perimeter wall and open on the western side. Initially the ground was pretty level and laid to paving blocks, allowing access to the buildings but serving not much purpose and fairly static. The project took 3 months to build during the wettest winter in the British Isles at a cost of £140,000.
This garden shed was designed and constructed in partnership between UBC architecture students and the Woodlands Community Garden Club. This structure is the focal point of the garden.
It acts as a gathering spot for local education programs and provides a practical storage solution. The unique form of the shed was designed to prevent shadows from being cast on surrounding garden plots while at the same time shading the central meeting space.
The project hosts several functions, a hotel with 160 rooms, a conference centre for roundabout 800 visitors, an event centre, retail areas, a restaurant a café, office spaces and 280 car parks. All functions are orientated around an open space in the ground floor which is usable as the event centre, as the prefunction of the conference, the lobby of the hotel and a certain space fort the cafè.

The Garden Mausoleum at Lakewood Cemetery required careful consideration of the intimacy of personal grieving and the shared rituals of commemoration. The 24,500-square-foot building is anchored by a two-level structure housing a committal chapel and a reception space.
The new pavilion at the botanical garden at Grueningen relates strongly to its context. The design was inspired by the surrounding forest, not the built environment. Both the formal vocabulary and the structural concept derive from nature. The pavilion is conceived to harmonize with and expand the forest.
This site is situated at a residential area in Ikoma-city, Nara where is little colder in winter compared to the inner-city of Osaka. But it shares a border with Osaka and the residents can commute in only 30 minutes, so it functions as a bedroom suburb of both Osaka and Nara. This area is a typical suburban residential area of Japan and designed to satisfy the orthodox practices of city planning. The inner road and the building distance are wide enough and each house has the southern garden.
The Garden is an attempt to participate to a new fresh life that’s emerging within the particular space of a factory from the Soviet era in Hanoi. The space, well located at the border of the old French neighbourhood, near the Opera House is an ancient penicillinfactory. Invested mainly by artists, fashion designers and creative people of all kinds, the spaces inside the factory provide a new cultural dynamic to young Hanoi.
The proposed house is situated in the outer suburbs of Nicosia surrounded by the endless tranquility of the majestic agricultural terrains.
Inspired by the existing topography of the area, form and landscape interweave into one hybrid structure, allowing for multi-layered programme, views and landscape to co-exist harmoniously.
