Banker Wire Mesh Outfits State-of-the-Art Indoor Soccer Stadium in Montréal, Canada

Friday, December 2nd, 2016

Article source: Banker Wire

Built in the center of one of Montréal’s most diverse neighborhoods, the Stade de Soccer de Montréal is a new visual and cultural symbol in the city. Utilizing custom-fabricated Banker Wire mesh partitions around its indoor playing field, the stadium provides tens of thousands of soccer players with a first-class practicing and playing environment.

The design of the Stade de Soccer de Montréal pays homage to and blends in with its surrounding landscape – a former quarry now being turned into what will be the largest urban park in Montréal. Outside, the stadium shows its versatility as a structure built around the topography, not despite it.

Article source: BO LANDSCAPE

About two weeks after construction was complete on the Rakafot School, for which we were the landscape architects, and the opening of the school year, we received a surprising phone call: “I wanted your opinion on adding frogs to the school’s ‘Winter Pond.’ It was the agriculture teacher “We received complaints about mosquitoes, and it seems to be the right way to stop them is by using frogs. Besides, it will be wonderful to hear their croaks along with the children’s loud and cheerful voices.” “It’s a great idea,” we hastened to assure her, with a fantastic inner feeling, “yes, that works.”

Evolution Ground in Alfortville, France by NP2F

Thursday, January 29th, 2015

Article source: NP2F

Embedded within the boundaries of the ZAC
(coordinated developed zone) Chantereine, the “evolution” grounds of Alfortville represent a qualitative approach to which we lay claim in this district’s public spaces, and more generally in today’s city. Thus, the playground becomes a truly architectural space, integrated in the urban structure and open to the city’s other practices.
