Guesthouse Berge in Aschau im Chiemgau, Germany by Nils Holger Moormann GmbH

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015

Article source: Nils Holger Moormann GmbH

The guesthouse berge is nestled in Aschau in Chiemgau, at the foot of the Kampenwand mountain and holds a unique charm. Those, who move into their quarters in berge, shouldn’t expect excessive luxury – but rather an inviting ambiance, natural materials, real art and a lot of attention to Detail. Almost all of the apartments are equipped with a small, but smart kitchen, which entices guests to don an apron. Because there’s no restaurant in berge.

Article source: Dushe Architectural Design Co.

The project is the last one which Dushe team (www.shdsd.cn) designed in ECADI.

This fragmented system is frequently used as an interpretation of contemporary cities; the iconic fragment becomes the signature of the city. But the city itself contains abundant resources. The 99% of these fragments are unknown for the public, but the city is also composed of background buildings.

Germanina Agriculture Farm in Cyprus by SPARCH SAKELLARIDOU/PAPANIKOLAOU ARCHITECTS

Wednesday, April 8th, 2015

Article source: SPARCH SAKELLARIDOU/PAPANIKOLAOU ARCHITECTS

The goal is to transform the site into a hospitality experience, the feeling of space and program into the art of experience, the actions into a viable and flexible development program.

The border: The listed buildings demarcate the central outdoor space with their shape, they accumulate the cultural activities, touristic infrastructure, hospitality, relaxation and entertainment programs (Interactive Museum, Agri-tourism, Baths, Accommodation). The enhancement of uses with reversible constructions of (container) type in a discreet relationship with the listed buildings reinforces the concept of limit and functions as a transitional element from and to the central area (Central Square), into the diffusion area (Natural Element).

Bussum Garden Studio in Netherlands by Serge Schoemaker Architects

Thursday, April 2nd, 2015

Article source: Serge Schoemaker Architects

The Garden Studio in Bussum involves the design and construction of a freestanding shed in a private garden that functions as a study, guest accommodation and storage. The challenge to fit a relatively large structure in a long, narrow garden resulted in an elongated plan. A geometric form entirely clad in shingles, combined with the transparent corner and rotated siting at the rear of the garden lends the studio a distinct presence and identity.

Reconstruction and expansion of Mill Kopácsy in Veszprém, Hungary by Veszprémi Építész Műhely

Thursday, January 22nd, 2015

Article source: Veszprémi Építész Műhely

Mill Kopácsy is located at the most beautiful area of Veszprém, in the valley of stream Séd.

1.The history of the building’s architecture
Where the current mill takes its place there probably had been one already in the middle ages.
The first report that proves the earliest existence of the mill is from 1765, which we found in the protocol of the city, Veszprém. There is also a note about the building in a fifteen years younger map. We also know that its name was already Kopácsy in the 1830’s, and that it had three water-wheels. There is also a map from 1857 which contains the mill, but the L figured building does not have yet some parts we know nowadays, because they were built later on. In the 1950s the building was socialized and private homes were settled in the main building and the outhouses as well. Then, in the 1980’s, the building was used as a tailoring and as a locker. Because the appliances were heavy, the wooden frame was enforced with steel, so that it became strong enough. After the tailoring had been given up the building was standing being empty and rusty for a pretty long term.
The building’s frontage which faces the street is classicist. The other fronts of it are simple plastered walls, with some scattered windows on them, and the building has the signs that it was rebuilt more times.

Mountain Guest House in Barcelona, Spain by Dom – arquitectura

Thursday, January 15th, 2015

Article source: Dom – arquitectura

The existing volume could not be changed, so we adapt the guest house program to it.

First of all we covered with insulation and waterproofing the roof, and then we did the same with the facades and interior space.

The idea is to open the inside space to outside, so the users could be available to enjoy the large garden with views. The cover is extended with a new wicker pergola with iron structure, so we can increase the terrace space and visitors will be more in touch with the garden, the nature and the orchard.
