In Benalmádena Costa, among large tourist complexes, this intervention is linked to tradition, landscape and memory. Recovering fragments of this linked to the sea and nature and using materials linked to the marine tradition.

An entrance hall is built, a viewpoint to the Mediterranean, which links Antonio Machado avenue and the Torrequebrada promenade through a staircase carved on the hillside that solves a sharp jump.

FAB Cinema in Xi’an, China by X+Living

Sunday, March 8th, 2020

Article source: X+Living

Director Ang Lee talks about movies in this way, “I think we directors are just like conductors. We sense something and then convey to the public through ourselves, stimulating their emotions, imagination, and thinking. This is what we say about making a film. ” This collaboration with FAB Cinema made me suddenly realize that as a designer, I also seemed to be a space director. I felt the power of life acting on me and cut out beautiful freeze-frames and close-ups, fabricating unreal dreams, mobilizing and stimulating the audiences’ emotions and imagination, and then conveying them through the carrier, space.

Muxikebarri Center of Performing Arts and Music School in Getxo, Spain by LMU Arkitektura Studio

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020

Article source: LMU Arkitektura Studio

The insertion of the designed object clashes with the convergence of different factors: the outstanding presence of Saint Nicholas’ church and the adjoining plaza with the annex building of the former town hall, the intricate identity of the residential volumes around, the harsh party wall of the telecommunications building and the oblique crossing of two marked local arteries. They are all joined together on this singular scenery of intense social and cultural connotations.

Being the first phase of the Ástjörn church, the parish hall holds the unique status of taking on all of the functions of the parish – church services included. The anticipated second phase is a church to the south of the main hall.

The Parish hall is modest, warm and accessible. It provides a warm embrace for those who enter to seek protective shelter, peace and inner strength. The design approach was to enhance the church’s role as a servant.

This new opera house is located on Fenyang and Huaihai Road. The building has a great public entrance at the corner of these two important streets of the historical French district. Rather than a massive unique building the opera is built as a sequence of pavilions, following the rhythm and the height of the existing architecture including, on Fenyang road the existing recent building of the conservatory. The color and texture of the pavilions is respecting a brick pattern aspect.

Article source: Atelier Silhouette Urbaine

The architect, Henri Chauvet, designed a unique building in 1986 to fit the cinema “Le Scarron” and the theatre “Les Sources”. Our analysis of the current building showed that the public and the pedestrians don’t notice these facilities mainly due to the architecture.

Article source: SIRS

Lungiarü is a quaint mountain village perched under the scenic Puez plateau in the Italian Dolomites. The native ladino speaking village adopted a sustainable tourism-growth model over the years and is now rewarded with many visitors to its historic centre and barns from both nearby valleys and afar. As a result, interventions to its core buildings are rare and carefully consulted with the various stakeholders of the local community in order to strike a good balance of conserving the village typology on one hand but at the same time providing contemporary service facilities.
