Wednesday, February 27th, 2019

Article source: OSO Architecture

Gürallar Lav Headquarters Office is located in Kartal, Istanbul with their offices within an area of 2600 m². The office design has been inspired by the company’s corporate identity who is a glass manufacturer, to create the unique and boutique office for them. For this purpose their corporate colors had been used in some niche points by OSO Architecture. Additionally the diagonal formed separations between the corridors and working zones was also inspired from the company’s own logo.

Trilux Headquarters in Cologne, Germany by GRAFT

Tuesday, February 26th, 2019

Article source: GRAFT

GRAFT designed the new headquarters of the German lighting company TRILUX in Cologne. The design of the rectangular building is strongly inspired by the client’s craft: light, refraction and reflections are reflected – in the truest sense of the word – throughout the building and its design embodies the precision of lamp manufacture. The continuous, staggered glass façade presents a changing pattern of reflections from different viewpoints and draws inspiration from the aesthetics of spotlight reflectors, which optimize the optical distribution of the light source. To achieve this, each façade module is rotated at the same angle about its central axis. The overall impression is of a monolithic building that produces different light and depth effects depending on the point of view.

Article source: FORM Bureau

Children’s World or Detsky mir is the largest children’s goods retailer in Russia. First opened as a department store in 1947, Detsky mir soon expanded into a nationwide chain. Today there are over 700 stores throughout Russia and Kazakhstan.

With expansion came a desire to modernise the work environment, and the company relocated its headquarters to a former printing factory that would facilitate an open layout. The building was constructed in 1978, a rational structure of silicate brick that had an additional wing built on, creating an L-shaped floor plan.

Redevelopment and Enlargement of Raicam Industrie s.r.l. Bruzolo headquarters in Italy by Rocco Valentini Architecture

Sunday, February 10th, 2019

Article source: Rocco Valentini Architecture

The project for the Raicam Industrie S.R.L. in Bruzolo (Torino-Italy) was basically realized in two steps, the first provided only the connection between two existing buildings and the second was the construction of a new building, the new Tech Center, to complement the existing one.

The connection (2013-2015) in steel and plexiglass is a makeover of an industrial building of the fifties. Very organic in its forms, recalls the angular shapes of the mountain ridges chefs from the background of the factory.

Red Cross Volunteer House in Denmark, Copenhagen by COBE

Wednesday, January 30th, 2019

Article source: COBE

The Red Cross Volunteer House is an extension of the national headquarters of Red Cross in Denmark in Copenhagen. The triangular building has a 850-m2 roof that acts as a large public staircase extending from the street level to the second floor of the building. The extension, which has a floorspace of 750 m2, is placed partially below ground and serves as the main entrance to both the headquarters and the volunteer centre. The Red Cross Volunteer House was designed with the ambition of creating a new meeting place for the 34,000 Red Cross volunteers as well as a new public space – an urban living room that gives something back to the city. That ambition has been realized.

The Next Generation of Skyscrapers: MVRDV Redefines the Tower with Vanke Headquarters Competition Win in Shenzhen

MVRDV has won the competition organized by Chinese real estate developer Vanke to design their new headquarters building in Shenzhen. The 250-metre-tall Vanke Headquarter Tower – unofficially called Vanke 3D City by MVRDV – is due to start construction in mid-2019, and comprises a cluster of eight interlinked blocks of offices, housing and culture, rising from four separate bases to a single crowning tower. It is an ambitious proposal that heralds the next generation of skyscraper design, following the concept of the “three-dimensional city”—an idea that is the culmination of a series of research projects conducted by MVRDV.

Headquarters and Logistic Centre of the Plural Pharmacy Cooperative in Coimbra, Portugal by ORANGE arquitectura

Monday, January 28th, 2019

Article source: ORANGE arquitectura

The former Topázio’s Factory site results from the relocation of the previous Emídio Navarro Avenue unit, in the Coimbra city center, to Pedrulha’s Industrial Area in the late 1950’s.

The strong presence of this building in the former National Road 1, currently known as Rua Manuel Madeira, can be seen, mainly, on its elevation extended along the way, with a modern language where the horizontality and the repetitive rhythm, given by the openings and friezes, are outstanding. On the other hand, the vertical gestures of the tower used to protect the Silos, attached to the transparent Manufacturing Room, and of the limestone wall where the institutional masts are anchored, appear in clear contrast on both east and west ends of the elevation, respectively.
