Carmelite Riverside in London, UK by Fletcher Priest Architects

Fletcher Priest has revived 19th century Carmelite House, originally the headquarters of Lord Northcliffe’s publishing empire situated within the Conservation Area on Victoria Embankment, to transform it into the headquarters for contemporary publishing group Hachette UK.

The WHO headquarter stands on the heights of Geneva, the municipal boundary of Prégny-Chambésy and Grand Saconnex, in the neighborhood of international organizations near Geneva-Cointrin Airport. Today it consists of ten buildings of very disparate quality. After 58 years on the current site of its headquarters in Geneva, WHO has undertaken an extensive renovation project. The purpose of the competition is to build a new building in which the staff will be transferred during the renovation, without disruption to the staff and operations of WHO.

Molise Headquarters by Paolo Venturella Architecture

The site area for the project takes place on two different levels on an abandoned soccer playground and  an higher square. The building is positioned parallel to the main street in front so to align with the context grid of the city and along the north side to avoid shading on the site.

To the north east of the capital city of Ecuador, Quito, the project is located in an area of 4000m2, within an area of high real estate development where this architectural icon is placed.

The project proposes conceptually, the idea of Strength, Safety and Innovation, generating a proposal constituted by the articulation of two main volumes (one that faces directly to the Pichincha volcano) consolidating a public square as a contribution to the embellishment and decoration of the city.

The site of the proposal has been conceived as a continuous environment without barriers and open to the public transmitting dimensional dynamic space (proposal) to the mentioned Complex. Likewise, the proposal is setback generating a large entrance plaza to the project not only, but as a gesture of respect and contribution to the immediate environment.

Statoil Headquarters in Bærum, Norway by a-lab

After 20 months of construction, the Statoil regional and international offices at Fornebu outside Oslo, Norway is now complete. A-lab received the commission after winning first prize in an open competition in 2008. Statoil is a Norwegian energy producer, the 57th largest company in the world by revenue, with about 30 000 employees in 37 countries. From October 15th, 2500 of these employees will work in the new building – including Statoil’s international department.

International Olympic Committee Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland by 3XN Architecture

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) selected 3XN to design its new headquarters after a multi-stage, international architectural competition that concluded earlier this year. The IOC and 3XN have now released the first renderings of the project, which is located on a 24,000sm site on the banks of Lake Geneva in Lausanne, Switzerland. The new building will bring together 600 employees currently working in disparate offices throughout the city.
