INFRAESTRUCTRUAL LANDMARK

Gamesa is a multinational company engaged in the manufacture and maintenance of wind turbines for green energy production.

The building is situated in a micro-suburban landscape into a business park. This technology park is characterized by an implantation of buildings in isolation, in a green environment.

Surrounded by road links, the project responds as a great infraestructural landmark, as a large transparent tank. An autonomous geometry floating on a green hillside.

Article source: IAD

The aforementioned definition of [HEADQUARTERS] leads us straight to the very heart of this project, to the strategic reason of why the COLAS Group initiated the process to construct a building that will in its every shape and form, be in line with the values that the company has lived by and conveyed to others, ever since it was founded back in 1929: Ethics | Security | Human Resource Management | Respect for the Environment | Profitable Growth | Innovation | Social Responsibility | Culture

One Workplace in Santa Clara, California by Design Blitz

Wednesday, August 7th, 2013

Article source: Design Blitz

The One Workplace Headquarters project was a unique opportunity for both One Workplace and for Design Blitz. One Workplace is the largest furniture dealer in Northern California and the single source for Steelcase furniture in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ambitious directive was to re-define the architectural standard not only of the company, but also of the showroom experience itself and create a bleeding edge, world-class workplace that serves both employees and customers alike. One Workplace had already shifted the industry paradigm of sales and showrooms away from a transactional experience to one of collaboration and partnership.

PAPPAS HEADQUARTERS/ MERCEDES SALZBURG
BRIEF Car dealership with a garage and showroom | ADDED VALUE In order to arrange the spatial program on this limited lot, all the functions are piled on top of one another, linked by navigable ramps and united under one roof. The vertical reorganization of a car dealership typology provides many advantages over conventional horizontally-organized car dealerships: via the ramps, the client can drive directly to either the garage or the salesroom where the cars are presented to the outside without reflective glass.

Banco Popular Headquarters in Madrid, Spain by Arquitectos Ayala

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013

Article source: Arquitectos Ayala

We initially conceive the project as a whole extending from plot to plot in a way which users and visitors experience as natural and easily recognizable. Thus we suggested building a series office blocks which would form an interwoven whole. The other option, a single large building, was discarded to make room for a more versatile, flexible and domestic option. In this sense we prefer here to work around a formula rather than a form, taking as starting point a typological approach rather than an image.

Article source: Alberto Varas  &  Asociados, arquitectos

New offices for a public institution had to be housed into an old existing structure. When placed inside a container that had been thought for different purposes it was an important condition to achieve  a flexible functionality for public offices that  would comply with   present  technology requirements  for this kind of use and still embody  the representational level of  public architecture that  was claimed by the theme .

The architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) have won first prize in the competition for the extension of Gebr. Heinemann Headquarters in Hamburg’s HafenCity. The new building designed for the Hamburg-based, tradition-rich trading company impressed the jury as “an independent urban-planning and architectural contribution characterized by timeless, harmoniously self-contained architecture.” Gebr. Heinemann, originally founded as a ship supplier in Hamburg’s Speicherstadt district in 1879 and now a well-known, modern Hanseatic trading house on the international travel market, invited eight architectural firms to participate in the competition.
