Melfi Headquarters in Pettoranello di Molise, Italy by Medir Architects

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

Article source: Medir Architects

The industrial area of Pettoranello, close to Isernia, is located in an ex-wetland surrounded by mountains, tangent to the state route connecting Campobasso to Isernia to the railway. The medieval town of Pesche dominates the valley. On the site is a square shed and the office building. For this latter the client requested a central double-height void with light from above and rooms accessed by distribution galleries over the void. Though these requests suggested the hypothesis of a new introverted and centripetal spatial configuration, the qualities of the landscape called for a more open solution.

Siemens’ new headquarters is an urban, recognisable composition of plazas, courtyards and alleys that will unfold a new, vibrant urban space in central Munich. Siemens and Munich are integrated into a harmonious whole by merging two archetypal entities – mass (Siemens) and void (Munich) – into a complementing formation. The city opens up the mass, which in response opens up to the city.

Lamar Advertising Headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by Eskew+Dumez+Ripple

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

Article source: Eskew+Dumez+Ripple

This new corporate headquarters for a local advertising agency is a reaction against the standard issue office environment. People require interaction in today’s workplace as they go to work to collaborate, to brainstorm, to do research, to do a range of activities they don’t necessarily think of as “work” in the traditional sense of the word. Much of what we observe in creative environments is a more informal interaction in settings not typical or traditional, such as chance meetings in corridors or conversations around the coffee pot.

Our design is structured to reinforce that culture of openness. To accomplish this, we have radically altered the internal configuration of a 1970’s era data center while leaving the exterior essentially unchanged.

Friday, September 9th, 2011

Article source: CM Mimarlık

The building is situated in the Tübitak MAM (Marmara Research Center) compound in Gebze, approx. 90 km east of Istanbul. The fact that the present operational structure of the company demanded a campus form which emerges from the coalescence of office spaces with the additional recreation, meeting and service areas lead us to a more diverse design than a conventional office building.
