Plaza of Angustias and Calle Interior de la Alcazaba in Palma del Río (Córdoba). This project is located in the historic center of town. It is the existing step today between the street Rio Seco from the rear of the Parroquia of the Asuncion, up to the Plaza of Angustias, including the land delimited by the enclosure that it is located, protecting the canvas the wall and the Almohad hexagonal tower that housed one of the gateways to the town.
Amid the architectural diversity of one of the most representative areas in Porto, Metamorfose,by creative team FAHR 021.3, stands out. The impact of the green metal mesh filling the void by one of the city’s gateway is undeniable. The result of this intimate dialogue with the city is absolute perfection when bringing together all the elements that make up the area around São Bento train station.
Ippolito Fleitz Group has designed the interior architecture of the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace, located on Amir Timur Square in the heart of the Uzbek capital Tashkent. The palace was ceremonially opened in September 2009 to celebrate the occasion of Tashkent’s 2200th anniversary. A jewellery shop, housed in one of two historic bell towers providing the design prelude to this representative ensemble on Amir Timur Square, was also designed as part of the project.
Our project integrates into its surroundings by respecting the urban fabric and existing buildings listed on the register of historic monuments. The use of the same type of stone, the preservation of existing buildings and respect for alignments all give the building an almost discreet character.
At the same time, the project establishes a strong identity, with the prayer hall and minaret recessed from the street.
The minaret and prayer hall are clad in white stone, symbolizing purity.
To dwell in this vast land, men and women build graceful stone structures along the roads in Atacama, to get an insight into nature, and make it hospitable.
These concrete landmarks in the landscape, reveal the presence of water ponds used to irrigate the land, and to swim, and open up new perspectives to the immense wilderness around.
The water is kept still flowing gently over the ponds edges to reflect the light, and the beauty of the place, against the dark slate coating.

Urban approach . The study site is a vacant lot owned by the city of Bessancourt and located a few hundred meters away from the town hall. Its location is in continuity with its historic downtown. The site is marked on the north by the imposing presence of a church. The urban environment of the study site is very mineral, the stone church is massive and reinforces this homogeneity. The building distribution on the site is diffuse and invites us to propose a singular object, an additional object that can join the existing group.
To our contemporary eyes, the Grand Palais is both an idea and a symbol of modernity. It is a hybrid building in terms of its architecture, its usage and its history. Neither a museum nor a simple monument, its architecture has an identity all its own, centered around the notion of a “culture machine,” a spatial means for hosting a vast diversity of events and audiences that exponentially exalts the site’s “universal” and “republican” vocation. The restoration and restructuring of the entire monument affords us the chance to reinforce this aspiration.
The Jordaenskaai in Antwerp developed from the Burgt – the historic centre or first, small medieval settlement from which the city evolved. The construction site is a special location with prehistoric finds, remains of the medieval city walls and of the old Antwerp canal. The remains have been painstakingly integrated into the ensemble and are largely visible in the ample inner zone accessible to residents and visitors.
