Apartment Palatina I in Lisbon, Portugal by rar.studio

Wednesday, March 14th, 2018

Article source: rar.studio

Palatina is a small palace built in the centre of Lisbon in the mid-20th century according to plans designed by Architect Carlos Rebelo de Andrade in the Português Suave style. Originally conceived to serve the purpose of a single family residence, the building was converted into four distinct apartments earlier this century. Apartment Palatina I occupies the main first floor of this mansion, the former location of the social areas – hall, office, billiards room, small living room, drawing room, pantry, dining hall, greenhouse – and correspondingly draws upon the magnificent ostentatiousness of both its amplitude and its materials and decorative details.

Vista Club Coworking in São Paulo, Brazil by Vasco Lopes arquitetura

Friday, December 1st, 2017

Article source: Vasco Lopes arquitetura

Renovation of one floor of a commercial building.  The main intervention was to integrate the several spaces by means of glass partitions with wood panels. The wooden frames with large glass panels allow to integrate with the external view with minimum visual interference. Wood was used on the floor, the working tables and the furniture of the bar and the living room, and natural tones of gray and terracotta were used on the upholstery. The reference to raw materials, with the use of concrete, rustic wood, and apparent pipes and beams create a simple and comfortable atmosphere. The concrete slabs were painted white and there is indirect illumination through rails and hanging spots. The view of the green surrounding residential neighborhood was emphasized inside with a  reference of a green wall composed of dehydrated plants by the entrance.

Dark Horse in Brunswick East, Australia by Architecture Architecture

Monday, September 4th, 2017

Article source: Architecture Architecture

In a row of workers’ cottages, there is one Dark Horse – a handsome creature. The stepped parapet, centred window, sidelined door and entrance awning are carried with the familiar, unassuming composure of its neighbours. Yet here the materials, stark in their composition, have a distinctly 21st century character, hinting at the contemporary home within.

Black Flying House in Czech Republic by H3T Architekti

Sunday, April 9th, 2017

Article source: BoysPlayNice

Black flying house hovers under the arch of the old railway bridge. Attracts attention, entices you to visit and raises questions. Black flying house is an installation which is composed of a living room with a stove and a sleeping loft. The object is suspended by steel cables. The installation includes also a ladder that is hidden nearby. It’s a bit of a conundrum that encourages passers-by to think. Its archetypal depiction adds the mysterious atmosphere of the military complex. This area is located just 15 minutes walking from the city centre of town Pardubice, Czech Republic. The formal solution is succinct. The resulting picture almost picturesque.

Industrial Loft II in São Paulo, Brazil by Diego Revollo Arquitetura

Thursday, March 2nd, 2017

Article source: Diego Revollo Arquitetura

This 100 m2 Loft with structure and apparent installations is located in the noble neighborhood of Morumbi, in São Paulo.

Although the aesthetic appeal of New York sheds converted into housing in the 1970s is the main justification for the male audience in explaining their desire for this style of property, Diego Revollo, who is knowledgeable about this repertoire and with some other lofts in his portfolio, knows that this profile prioritizes good materials and functionality.
