Facts about Stockholm Loop in ten points:

1. There is an acute shortage of housing in Sweden as more than 700,000 new homes need to be built during the coming 10 years.

2. Stockholm Loop proposes more than 120,000 new homes in twelve underutilized locations at the outer edges of the Stockholm metro system.

3. Stockholm Loop builds on the use and upgrade of existing infrastructure.

4. Stockholm Loop introduces a new typology for high density areas that accommodates work, housing, distribution, trade and sport.

5. The creation of new types of buildings: an updated station building, a transport hub and a bridge house. Four examples of these buildings have been designed.

Powerhouse Company creates three iconic towers in Leiden

The sustainable residential towers for the people of Leiden, The Netherlands will be built along the Willem de Zwijgerlaan. The design consists of a unique mix of approximately 560 apartments—ranging from 45 to 200 m2—including 25% social housing. The ambitious project will not only provide a diverse range of housing for a multigenerational population, but also express the future of sustainable urbanization in the city of Leiden.

\”139 SCHULTZ\” offers the opportunity to live in an ideal place, located in the street of Miguel E. Schultz 139 San Rafael neighborhood. In one of the first neighborhoods in the center of Mexico City. It is one of the most bohemian neighborhoods of the city, which still preserves its 19th century architecture and the atmosphere of a neighborhood of yesteryear.

The 6-level building is made up of 21 departments of different typologies ranging from 60 m2 to 120 m2 approximately, with an interior distribution that favors ventilation and natural lighting in all living areas, with views towards their inner courtyards as well as the Street.

The Eleventh in New York City by BIG-BJARKE INGELS GROUP

76 11th Avenue ‘The Eleventh’ is located in West Chelsea between the High Line and the Hudson River. Spanning a full block from 17th Street to 18th Street and 10th Avenue to 11th Avenue, the 890,000 gross square foot, mixed-use project is composed of two towers: a West tower of 34 stories (402 ft) and an East tower of 25 stories (302 ft) which are both set on a 60 to 85 ft podium. The West Tower will be entirely dedicated to residences and residential amenities. The east tower will be a combination of hotel and residential units. The hotel will be located adjacent to the High Line within the lower half of the East Tower and the residences will occupy the upper floors.

Belatchew Arkitekter has, on behalf of Swedish real estate developer Sveafastigheter Utveckling, designed Discus, a new landmark high rise in central Nacka; a booming part of the Stockholm metropolitan area in Sweden.

Discus is a new landmark building in Nacka City, which with its characteristic irregular silhouette is designed to become a symbol of a growing metropolitan area. Discus will be placed in the heart of Nacka’s new public transport node, right above the metro station in Nacka City’s new city center.

Arte S in Penang, Malaysia by SPARK ARCHITECTS

SPARK has completed Arte S a residential development located at Jalan Bukit Gambier near the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. The project consists of a pair of condominium towers containing 460 apartments. The tallest tower is 180m, the buildings together comprise the tallest “twin tower” development on the island.

The client Nusmetro, a Malaysian property developer commissioned SPARK Architects to design the building and its landscape.

The towers’ flowing form was inspired by the dramatic topography of Penang Island.

Plot # 1282 is a residential project located on the northern periphery of Beirut at the proximity of one the city’s abandoned and unused railway terminal, military barracks, leftovers of agricultural land and a 30‐meter wide highway. The zone in which our project is located is not presently considered residential. The project’s program consists of 95 industrial lofts with surfaces ranging from 100 square meters to 650 square meters on a total built‐up area of 25,800 square meters.

Student Village in Damagervej, Denmark by lenschow & pihlmann

Student Village is a small urban community built in and around a 17th century timber farm, just outside of central Aarhus, Denmark. The project consists of 56 single and double room apartments for students, as well as common rooms and shared facilities. The new buildings follow and mimic the old farms’ layout, creating a series of intimate spaces and streets around it. A small village surrounded by the city.
