Park ‘n’ Play
+Parking houses should be an integral part of the city. But how can we challenge the monofunctional use of the conventional parking house? How do we create a functional parking structure, which is also an attractive public space? And how do we create a large parking house that respects the scale, history and future urban culture of the new development area Nordhavn in Copenhagen?

M Grund – Social Housing In Vienna, Austria By Nerma Linsberger Ztgmbh

Friday, January 5th, 2018

Article source: v2com

The building’s introverted structure is a response to its heterogeneous surroundings: the complex has clearly defined edges on the north, east and west sides, and opens up to the south, where it faces wide open spaces. Two courtyard blocks build an urban space sequence, creating a south-facing relationship. Cuts, openings and large windows structure the west, north and east sides, entering a dialogue with the surrounding urban space.
