A residential complex located in Muko city, Kyoto. The building is facing to a historical street. The location is mixed with historic sites and countryside sceneries as well as the modern shops and apartments, making the area rather unarranged. Thus, we aimed not just to meet the requirements as a preferable rent but also aimed to make the architecture have positive effects to the townscape when to design this apartment.
The main objective of the project was to create something entirely different from the common residential buildings in Bulgaria, most of which are characterized as “recycled socialistic” panel blocks. There are two types of materials used on the façade – colored metal panels for the “golden shell” and dark tinted glass for the apartments. In between each apartment, there are curtains – some of them are from tinted glass and others from perforated stainless steel. Due to the strict technical parameters of the projected buildings, a big part of the construction is heavily monitored. The project “QP apartments” consists of three individual buildings with various types of housing options and parking on the ground level. The first building is called Q, which houses smaller apartments, while the other building named P, is bigger and includes luxurious penthouses. On the ground level of both apartment buildings, there is place for parking and recreational areas.

A historically significant stadium due to its distinctive design, with the oval stands positioned close to the pitch so audience and players are in intimate proximity, De Kuip is known for its unique and intense atmosphere. Built 80 years ago, the current stadium of Rotterdam-based football club Feyenoord no longer fulfills modern demands. To facilitate the football club’s expanding ambitions both in the national and European football leagues, multiple plans for a new and renovated stadium have been made and presented over the past decade, none of which received final approval. In 2016, Operatie NL, OMA and Feyenoord proposed a different approach: the construction of a new stadium combined with the development of the surrounding neighborhood.

Identification on the part of some members of the Taller de Arquitectura with certain ideas of the Archigram movement, and enthusiasm for experimentation with geometry and its application possibilities to housing, are two factors given tangible form in Kafka’s Castle. This apartment building, on a hill overlooking the bay of Sitges, is fruit of the clustering of cubes around nuclei of vertical circulation. Each cube contains a minimalist environment: living-dining room or bathroom-bedroom, articulated on different levels. The color of the façades, chosen from a range of blues, expresses the intention to merge the building with its natural background, the sky.
