Form4 Architecture designed Urban Frames, a LEED Gold-aimed, Silicon Valley residential and office space, to instill a distinct character in an area globally known as the epicenter of the tech industry. Intended to benefit both on-site users and the surrounding community with a visually appealing and sustainable design, this mixed-use architectural ensemble invites pedestrians and tenants alike to gather, share, retreat, entertain, and work.
ColiRoma OneHundredTwentyEight is part of the urban fabric of the Colonia Roma Norte in Mexico City. The district’s features and use of public space offers a unique perspective on progressive neighborhood living within the city, and as such, reflects contemporary society, where life and living happens not only in our private spaces but also in our nearby public spaces. Activities, like those of the Condesa-Roma Cultural Corridor, generate vibrant personal relationships with neighbors that allow for living together in the public space. This is how the concept of livable space and lifestyle has a direct impact on this residential project.

This residential complex consists of five 26-storey buildings arranged in a checkerboard pattern on top of a multi-storey underground car park. This configuration of volumes of identical shape and height has made it possible to create a system of semi-enclosed inner courtyards between the blocks. The main entrances to the buildings face the courtyards and take the form of stately portals.
The Hybrid Farm Apartment Building is a new building type designed for cities, which offers farm space for locally grown produce as well as residences. This particular hybrid farm design also addresses local conditions at the High Line and positions the hybrid building within the general context of architecture in the area. The geometry of the building adjusts to the angle of the sun throughout the day. Only the top of the building sees the morning sun because of the height of the surrounding buildings in Chelsea. As the sun comes across the sky to the West, the building twists to evenly distribute daylight throughout the day. The farm terraces are accessible by residents of the apartments on each floor. There is a public observation garden on the top floor and an art gallery on the second floor, both accessible from the High Line.
The elements with which to develop the project are not far away. They are features that tell us about the climate, the context and the way we live. Simply walking around the place and looking at… the courtyards, the filters, the light, the plots configuration, the small scale of the buildings… the singularity of each of the houses and the amazing configurations that emerge when they are grouped… not really knowing where one house ends and the next one begins.
The Zopfmatte residential complex aims to help and encourage residents to live independently in their own homes, whilst meeting their needs in every stage of life. The Zopfmatte housing concept demonstrates a forward-looking understanding of living arrangements for the elderly. In Suhr, the political, social and individual independence sought by (very) elderly residents is construed as assisted independence. The necessary occupational and organisational structures have been consistently integrated into the project. An on-site contact team is available to residents on a daily basis. Interfaces to the community are in place. The contact team plays a key role in the Zopfmatte operating concept. It consists of a contact person and a caretaker with additional responsibilities. Together they take care of the service office for the complex. Their main task is to help residents achieve independence, to provide them with information and to offer organisational advice if necessary, for example in their dealings with authorities and official bodies. Administrative operations in Zopfmatte are financed by the tenants and apartment owners by means of a flat-rate solidarity fee. Based on these conditions, \”Ageing in Place\” is achieved.
Due to irreparable damage, the existing buildings in this block had to be demolished. This was done in stages and construction work on the new residential buildings proceeded in four phases. Careful management of the construction project enabled the residents to remain in the development. The new apartments are well equipped and barrier-free in design; on the ground floor the apartments have a garden, on the main floors, broad balconies and on the top floors, generous roof terraces. This development reinstates the closed city-block structure at this point, with a clearly defined street side and a shared, private courtyard behind; as such it adheres to the existing development structure in the urban district of Lindenhof. Details such as the sandstone clinker-clad ground floor and the concrete windowsills are also taken from the forms found in the built environment of the immediate vicinity. Spread over nine years, this construction project provides a total of 235 cooperative housing apartments.
Situated on an undulating site in the deserts of Ras, Rajasthan, India, Studios 18 apartments are a part of an entire layout spread over 36 acres. With no buildings or development in the vicinity, this layout is being created for the working people of a new cement manufacturing plant that has commenced production nearby. Close to the site there is no existing development and there are four villages at a distance of 1 km from the site. Taking a cue from the organic layouts of the neighbouring villages near the site, the residential units are interspersed within the existing contours along organic streets that weave through the site.
Eldeco Estate One, Panipat is one of the first few residential townships in close proximity to NCR that was built with a clear objective to redefine residential lifestyle by means of a novel, community-centric design approach. It is situated on a prime location on the G.T. Karnal road with a straightforward approach and is well-connected to Panipat city and the other nearby towns of NCR. Spread across nearly 120 acres, Estate One is located just five minutes away from the town center, and therefore has quick and easy access to the entire Panipat town and its facilities (markets, hospitals, schools, entertainment centers, shopping centers, educational institutes, government centers etc.).
All Urby apartments feel larger than they are as a result of smart use of the available space. Despite being compact, the units are built with an optimal flow and spatial balance in mind. Sliding doors between connecting spaces let residents fully open up the apartment and experience its full size and sense of space. All apartments boast windows across the full width of the units. Combined with a straightforward design and use of light colours, the large windows bring daylight and a sense of spaciousness deep into the apartments, while at the same time offering panoramic views.
