Research and Design Center in Hebei Province, China by Latitude Studio

Friday, June 7th, 2013

Article source: Latitude Studio

In large industry structures, the construction of the industrial building is based on logistic, distribution and volumetric requirements determined by the production. It is one of the few building types whose value is measured more in terms of equipment assets than how it performs as social infrastructure.

Hybrid Badel Block in Zagreb, Croatia by Proj3ct And Spaceworkers

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Article source: Proj3ct And Spaceworkers

PROJ3CT and SPACEWORKERS joined the Badel Block Competition in 2012 for an urban renewal  located in the city center of Zagreb, Croatia. Our proposal “Hybrid Badel Block” was strongly built on the high-density needs stated on the competition guideline. Nevertheless, it was located on a well-sustained urban environment where the high-rise theme was under tough regulation and it’s possibility was highly depreciated by the inhabitants. Also, it was due to incorporate a wide variety of social and private functions and typologies of use.

Energetic and Formal Renovation of an Industrial Building in Italy, Florence by TA Plan Design

Tuesday, July 24th, 2012

Article source: TA Plan Design

The renovation of the industrial building was done to reduce energy consumption for heating by installing a polystyrene foam “coat” on all the external involucre. Particular attention was also given to the summer behavior of the building that had significant overheating problems. All windows of the south side have been screened by curved section brise-soleil manually adjustable: trough this setting you can block the passage of sunlight in summer and instead favoring the passive solar contribution in winter season.
