The project involves the renovation of an indoor swimming pool and the extension of this building by a linear volume in which the current 25-metre pool, an activity pool and, in a separate space in visual continuity with the first, hydromassage and contrast pools are located. This last space is completed by an area where sauna and steam bath cabins, showers and an ice fountain are situated.

It is a row house built in the early 90s. It is located in Sant Pere de Ribes, a village 50 kilometers south of Barcelona. It was large but dense, as it corresponds to the type of middle-class housing of the time. It was not a dark house, but it was in semi-darkness. To optimize the number of floors, the slabs leave a very tight clear height of just 255cm. There are four floors: one with a parking area (at street level), a ground floor (at the level of a rear public garden), a first floor and an attic. The house is well located, in the upper part of the village.
Compared to previous photography studios that featured a blank-space setting to adapt to every-changing market trends, photographers nowadays tend to have a workspace that highlights personality.
Recently, design practice Shire Space Research conceived a workspace for photography studio Damon. Instead of following trends, this space conveys the studio’s unique character. The major challenge and breakthrough of the design is the creation of spatial scenes and atmosphere.
A pharmaceutical company based in Sant Cugat wanted a project to connect diferent buildings together through their respective lower levels, in an attempt to transform this space into a Hall, a Foyer and an Auditorium.
In architecture you often hear that an empty space should be defined by what’s built in it, nothing more, nothing less. The empty space was there, already built, naked… and we became tailors instead of architects. From the measurements of the naked body (waistline, hips, the way the shoulders fall down) a tailor reimagines the body in fabrics. Rediscovering it through imagination and covering it with tangible shapes, all in the same effort.
Silver Diner returned to CORE to partner on the delivery of the iconic brand’s first location in Washington, DC. Given the potential of the site across from Nationals Park, the team made care-ful decisions to capitalize on this prominent corner location, leading to the creation of a flagship interpretation of the Silver Diner brand. The restaurant chain’s first dual concept features Silver Diner on the first floor and introduces Silver Social, a sophisticated bar and lounge, on the sec-ond floor. This second level provides stunning views to the ballpark from its expansive terrace while being highly visible from the street level.
CORE partnered with Street Guys Hospitality on the renovation of the client’s existing restaurant space by unifying all three floors to expand and reinvent Buena Vida. Positioning the brand to expand to new locations, the design translates the client’s vision to re-establish the prototype concept as an honest Mexican experience tied to natural ingredients. Transporting guests into a natural, jungle-like experience in Tulum, Mexico, the design delivers a warm and sandy color palette of textures that grounds it in an earthen feeling. Lush botanicals enliven the surroundings and serve as a key definer of the experience, creating the impression of dining on the edge of the jungle.
For this extension, Studio Kloek came up with spacious solutions, despite the clients wishes to place the new kitchen out of sight. The architect aimed for openness and clarity in the rather narrow terraced house.
The kitchen is placed centrally in the house, with the dining room on the garden side and the lounge in the existing house on the streetside.
CORE partnered with Silver Falcon Capital to develop a new fast-casual prototype concept called Summerbird, that translates the client’s vision to celebrate both the American love affair with crispy and grilled chicken and the innate nostalgia of summertime. Taking inspiration from playing fields, parks, and public pools to evoke the warmth and energy of Summer, the design plays up bright colors, warm lighting, vibrant greenery, and natural woods.
Pleasing Interiors is all about the right proportions of material and textures along with balancing client’s requirements & an effective program. This is a 4-member family apartment having a total carpet area of 2200 sq. ft. The initial brief of the client was that it should be stylish, subtle & under-stated luxury but at the same time it should have its separate functional value.
A challenging garden apartment in the center of the big city has become a wonderful home and an island of silence in the urban environment around it.
