Today, a new spectacular museum for rock, pop and youth culture, designed by Danish architects COBE and Dutch architects MVRDV, is inaugurated in Roskilde, Denmark by HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark. The new museum is clad in dramatic golden studs and sits among old warehouses that previously housed a concrete factory in Roskilde, just outside of Copenhagen.

The Exploratorium is an internationally known science museum focused on hands-on exhibits of natural phenomena. They recently moved to this new location, carefully restoring the historic Pier 15 on San Francisco’s downtown waterfront. Visitors can now experience 80,000 square feet of science exhibits in the historic structure, with new cafes and event space located in the contrasting modern glazed observatory with unobstructed views of San Francisco Bay. The building also offers a theatre, more than a dozen classrooms, labs, and teacher training rooms, wood and metal workshops, two retail stores, offices, and a large outdoor plaza.
Daniel Libeskind unveils the design for The Kurdistan Museum at the Bloomberg Businessweek Design conference in San Francisco. Libeskind will present the design for a building that will create the first major center in the Kurdistan Region for the history and culture of the Kurdish people.

GRAFT’s proposal for the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo finds its place in a unique historic and spatial context; integrated into an outdoor museum complex in the center of the Bygdøy peninsula. The long and vivid history of the Viking Museum and its presented findings unfold in a continuous motion within and around the new landscape that houses the extension. The draft aims to protect the residents’ and visitors’ view of the area in the north while sensitively augmenting the landscape features on the given site.
The Cabañeros National Park Visitors Center and Interactive Museum is a public architectonic intervention whose main objective is to promote ecotourism in the populations that forms the environment of the park, through information, exhibition, research and care of the main values of this natural space.

Isolated within a seemingly endless stretch of flat, idyllic countryside, a small but dense forest emerges into view. Occupying 4500 square metres, the ancient copse has been preserved and nurtured in its rural setting. Nestled within this unique environment the project acts as small museum. It consists of a market selling locally farmed produce and goods, a restaurant serving dishes using only locally grown ingredients (based on the Chisan-Chisho concept of local production for local consumption), and an event space hosting exhibitions and concerts for the community.
Based on the island of Réunion and in Paris, l’atelier.architectes numbers some forty collaborators, including architects, urbanists, engineers, interior designers, construction economists, and client advisory services. This experienced and multi-disciplinary team is able to adapter to all the client’s requirements and to operate under increasingly complex regulatory and economic constraints. The engineering services integrated in the office guarantee fluid exchanges, simultaneous design, and project feasibility and coherence.

The animal rights activism art-based education facility, Museum of Compassion will be located in Louisville, Kentucky. An interstitial space that is bounded by park amenities such as tennis courts, hiking trails, nature preserve on the north; single family residential development on the east and west; and a zoo on the south side serves as the project site.
The project is a proposal for a new branch of NCCA Museum in Moscow.
The project proposes a flexible matrix of the linear block, a strategy derived from the great modern Russian architecture. Every single block opens the buildings to the world axes and it is modular with different dimensions and openings according to the program, solar exposition, energy consumption, and sustainability. At the centre of the triangular site, the main bar is an atrium space, which connects the existing buildings, the NCCA with the future development of the area.
