I was requested, after winning through the competition, to design a facility accompanied to the museum of Hiroshi SENJU, a world-famous Japanese painter/artist. Before I started the actual planning, I prioritized building my conceptual work first ( i.e. geometrical shape containing both traditional and modern forms ) in order to make my design coexist on the same site with the museum that had a curved form interpreting Karuizawa ’s nature in a elegant way.
The project concerns the refurbishment and the extension of the Lille Modern Art Museum in a magnificent park at Villeneuve d’Ascq. The existing building, designed by Roland Simounet in 1983, is already on the Historic monuments list. The project aims at building up the museum as a continuous and fluid entity, this by adding new galleries dedicated to a collection of Art Brut works, from a travelling movement that extrapolates existing spaces. A complete refurbishment of the existing building was next required, some parts were very worn.

A Cultural Centre in the heart of Custom House with links to ExCeL. The brief is to design 1 hectare of cultural facilities integrated with the existing urban fabric providing amenities for the local community and visitors. The development included a state of the art museum of local history, a sports centre and retail units.
Sir G. Scott, the man who designed Battersea Power Station, was a master in blending gothic tradition with modernism and he created some of the most legendary landmarks of his time. The concept design for the new Museum Of Architecture aims to engage the deepest roots of this listed building to a unique, sustainable and contemporary design. A building that is the symbol and beholder of an extraordinary history demands an approach which evokes, inspires and remembers its stories by retaining the visual memory of all its art deco details, including its cracked walls, marks, broken beams, etc.
The Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center needed to upgrade and expand its exhibition and support space for the museum that uses the life lessons of Yogi Berra, the New York Yankees and baseball to teach and promote good sportsmanship, respect, integrity, social justice and the pursuit of excellence. The museum also wished to transform its unwelcoming and defensive appearance.
Inhotim Centro de Arte Contemporânea is located in Brumadinho, a village near Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais state. A personal initiative of the mining industry businessman Bernardo Paz, the museum has an unusual architectural concept. Instead of sum up all its installations into a unique building, it is composed of many pavilions spread out in a park of approximately 35 hectares.
The project involves the renovation of existing parts on the east and north sides of the Castle and the reconstruction of demolished parts, particularly the west and the south sides and the reconstruction of the tower in the main front on the square that, in historical time, has taken different form and size.
Cutty Sark is one of the world’s most famous sailing vessels. After being decommissioned, the historic clipper ship has rested in a dry dock in the centre of historic maritime Greenwich where it served as public museum. Grimshaw Architects in association with Youmeheshe Architects and Designers were commissioned to design a cutting-edge visitor centre within and beneath the ship as part of a 27 million pound conservation programme that required closing the attraction for a complete restoration overhaul.
The project designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects for Pedrali has just been awarded in London with the Fx International Interior Design Awards 2012 – Museum or Exhibition Space category.
Organized by the English magazine FX, the 14th Fx International Interior Design Awards gives a prize to the best of interior projects and products from all over the world, realized from June 2010 to July 2012.
MuMAC, Museum of Coffee Machine, was designed by Paolo Balzanelli owner of Arkispazio and Valerio Cometti founder of Valerio Cometti+V12 Design in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Cimbali Group, the most important pofessional coffee machine manufacturer in the world, through its legendary brands LaCimbali and Faema.
