The artists group realities:united is creating the art installation TransReflex at the art museum in the Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen in Magdeburg.
After the façade installation was unveiled on Sunday, 19 Feb. 2012 in the framework of the ceremony reopening the museum, the artists will present the project at 7 p.m. on 22 Feb. 2012 in the framework of a discussion with the artists in Magdeburg’s art museum.

Our extension at Ordrupgaard redefined the relationships between the museum buildings gardens, creating a new landscape both in itself and in unison with its surroundings. Design ensures that visitors’ experience is not fragmented or compartmentalized – building / collection / gardens – but a continuous, fluid interaction between different elements and aspects.
The Jøssing Fjord Center is a combined museum for mining and geology. If the outside exhibition areas are also taken into consideration, the area is really a small magma park. The museum building is set just outside Jøssing in beautiful natural surroundings, next to the former mines and the power station that produced electricity for the mining activities. The basic structure – a four-armed star plan – is cast in concrete around an intermediate massive core built from bales of straw.
The new museum for Cagliari serves as a landmark for the city – welcoming visitors from the sea, sharing its public dimension with the urban complex through a network of public paths. These paths continue within the building’s interior, forming spaces for exhibition, communication and transit.
Feathered Edgewas commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. The project explores the convergence of digital technology and craft. It is one in a series of installations curated by Brooke Hodge and Alma Ruiz. Integrating complex digital computation, mechanization, and printing with traditional handcrafted production techniques, Feathered Edge explores our desire to alter a space with fluid architectural forms that require a minimal use of material while utilizing a new proprietary technique that yields the effect of three dimensional spatial constructs “printed” to resemble objects hovering in space.

This state history museum is located adjacent to the Louisiana State Capitol and Gardens within the governmental complex now known as Capitol Park. The project is the sole cultural institution included in an ambitious master planning effort to relocate 1.5 million square feet of dispersed state governmental offices into a consolidated location surrounding the historic Capitol Tower, built in 1932 by then governor Huey Long.
Rebild Hills and RoldForest in northern Jutland are some of Denmark’s most beautiful and unique nature reserves, and thus the area holds an extraordinary potential for offering spectacular experiences in this very distinctive rolling landscape. We wish to contribute to the creation of an ideal setting for the narrative about cultural history and nature experiences in these unique surroundings.
This pavilion is located at the foot of Laojunshan mountain in Xinjin, to usher in the people to the holy place of Taoism, while the building itself shows the essence of Taoism through its space and exhibitions.
The tile used for façade is made of local material and worked on in a traditional method of this region, to pay tribute to Taoism that emphasizes on nature and balance. Tile is hung and floated in the air by wire to be released from its weight (and gain lightness). Clad in breathing façade of particles, the architecture is merged into its surrounding nature.
“The transparency makes the continuity between inside and outside, the outside comes inside and vice-versa. An eclectic conquest of the space makes the building not a barrier but a dynamic urban link, crossed by a linear flexible path across Bauhaus history. The idea of creating a new unity by the marriage of many arts and movements”.
During summer 2010 the technical museum together with querkraft architekten designed a new entrance foyer and museum shop.
A modern museum service requires a correspondingly modern level of service – for this purpose space is a must. older museum buildings are challenged to expand and modernise whilst remaining attached to their existing historical structures. in the 90s the technical museum faced precisely this difficulty as it tried to gain more space for a larger entrance foyer, a new museum shop and café as well as sufficient amenities, cloakroom space and ticketing capacity. the architectural solution that was chosen in the 90s was a steel-glass box placed in front of the existing historical structure. this solution proved problematic on a few levels shortly after the opening in 1999. the foyer was dominated by large temperature fluctuations, poor acoustics and ventilation, as well as less than optimal visitor circulation.
