The client is the person in charge of Xining “no man’s land” music activity brand. They have planned artists’ performances and held music parties in many small and big music bars to spread music culture. However, because they were using other people’s venues, they always encountered various restrictions and had to tolerate and compromise in the process. So they decided to create a space with their own character, so that they could curate their label work freely. PHASE is defined as the phase position, which is the position of a wave at a particular moment in its cycle. Just as the fluctuation caused by “no man’s land” is now at a certain point, we look forward to the subsequent chain reaction.
In Chengdu, a capital city in the southwestern China known for its laid-back lifestyle, there is such a cocktail R&D workshop & bar. The client’s emotional preference and rich experiences as a bartender convince the designer to create a novel project, in which the place is converted from an innovative cocktail workshop to a cozy and styled bar according to time shift in a day.
MVRDV has completed construction on The Imprint, a new 2-building art-entertainment complex in close proximity to Seoul’s Incheon Airport. Featuring a nightclub in one building and indoor theme park in the other, the windowless structures feature three key design elements: imprints of the façade features of surrounding buildings, lifted entrances, and a golden entrance spot covering one corner of the nightclub building.
Live music club (1000 sq. m.), re-creation of midnight flight under a starry sky.
NIGHT FLIGHT is a live music club that spreads on 1000 sq. m. Our design was inspired by its name. We re-created the notion of a midnight walk/ flight under a starry sky. We situated the stage in the center of the space in order to achieve 360º contact with the audience. The seating is arranged in three tiers + one balcony. We created a boudoir for the VIP tier that overlooks the main hall.

Within a body of the building in which stood a kindergarten and other small productive activities there is Zettel Club, former club / restaurant now converted into a discotheque and a space adaptable to host a variety of events.
The industrial archeology of the place has inspired the work of restructuring and restyling pursued with one goal, to create a contemporary elegance space while preserving the industrial look of the site.
Fratelli Social Club is a well-known place to Bucharest residents. In 2015 a change of ambiance was needed. By generating the new design, Mihai Popescu wanted to transform an 8-year old space into a new dimension, without changing its structure. The place consists of a web of lines that compose an approximate sphere whose geometry has been modified, generating an “altered” geodesic dome.
Drawing on themes from luxury, glamorous and trendy blends Eskada Club Porto stands for an invigorating atmosphere. Thought from a range of differently design rooms, each with its own special feature it has achieved a unique environment out of the mix between past, present and future.
