The founding act of the project begins with the landscape. It is rare in Paris to be able to take advantage of panoramic views without vis-à-vis. Yet here the site overlooks two distant landscapes: the city and the suburbs.
The building allows a nursery which is totally developed in the ground floor level. It is located in Can Nebot, near Ibiza Village. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood of single-family houses. The project appears as one of them.
The building site is a garden which also contains a small house for children in the middle. The user requirement programme is simple: four classrooms with a bath area, a multifunctional room, services and facilities, a changing room for the staff, kitchen and a small dining area for teachers and, also, the director’s office.
The project is part of the operation Grenelle Frémicourt which includes the construction of social housing on behalf of Paris-Habitat on Frémicourt Street and the construction of a residential building on Boulevard de Grenelle.
The nursery capacity is 30 cribs. It develops as a 3 levels superstructure with the first two floors accessible to the public. The ground floor houses the reception and premises for cradles, first floor houses premises for tall children then the second floor houses staff quarters.

In order to resolve the implantation of the building on the site, we started setting the sports track with the right orientation. The track is placed on the level + 41,90 m, optimizing the topography modification works. The north side of the lot is located on the level + 41,50 m, where we find the entrance to the administration, the nursery and primary areas. Thus, we try to not create large differencesfrom one level to the next, thinking in the shortage of the users.
Our client, “La communauté de communes du Pays Boulageois” launched an architectural competition in January 2010 in order to buildsimultaneously two childcare facilities: one of them in Boulay, for a gross floor area of 1000 m2 and the other one, fifteen kilometers further, in Piblange for a gross floor area of 350 m2.
Dialectic between public space and appropriate places for inhabitants of nursery school.
The construction of a nursery in the existing center CEIP “Vicente Blasco Ibáñez” in Cheste (Valencia) is seen as an opportunity to investigate and intervene in the border between the school and the town of Cheste, as well as to achieve the necessary specificity required by the program in relationship to the rest public spaces of the center.
